WHERE DID I PUT THAT NUT? Just A Minute - for 10-15-08

Howdy everybody –

 

Last Wednesday the folks at Playfair got excited when telling of their reasons to support one candidate or another… and indicated they thought it would be a good idea to have a way for the folks in the area to express their viewpoints… So today we’re having a straw vote… from about 11:30 Thursday morning to the polls close an hour or two after the 5:15 afternoon program. You’re free to participate if you’d like to.

 

The way you can vote in this straw vote system this time is through the Internet. (I’d do it through the phone but the staff is pretty thin on the ground in the evening hours and I don’t want to create a problem.) So just get your e-mailer fired up and write to  < info@WMUU.com > and write in the name of your candidate on the subject line or in the body of the message. We’ll be glad to hear from you.

 

My intent is to broadcast the results of the straw vote on the regular JUST A MINUTE slot on Thursday morning and afternoon – we’ll just see how WMUU land in SC, NC, TN and GA feel about the candidates here about two weeks away from the real election. Things seem pretty confused to me – about like the stock market… I don’t know whether McCain’s stock is up or down… last week or so it has seemed to be depressed… but he says he’s happy with where he is because he’s come back more times than a cat with nine lives. Of course if you get this message outside the WMUU-FM coverage area – you’re still free to vote in the straw poll… but as a matter of interest please add a general note of where you’re voting from.

 

So… you’re welcome to put your finger to the political winds and vote in this straw contest… It’s not scientific – and I’m not able to keep ACORN registrants out if they’re not entitled to vote. [J There seems to be some question about that.] Sarah Palin seems encouraged by Miz Pearlie’s endorsement – Billy-Bob changes his mind every couple of days… and Homer thinks Obama sort of sounds like Homer… so he seems to be leaning that way. We’ll just have to see.  I think we’ll all go away still being friends.

BB: But you promised – if’n you don’t let us’n vote Obama says hit’ll be voter succession.

MizP: Ah don’t than at’s rite… Ah wanted ta' tawk about Sarah…

BB: We jist got a minite Miz Pearl – we got ta' tell ‘em how they can vote in th’ straw poll.

HOMER: This’ is the Official, UN-official straw vote of the vote of Earl ‘n Lester’s  Bait Shop and Sushi Bar  Playfair on th’ Caraliner line.

MizP: Ohhh  THIS is SO exciting… How do we do hit?

BB: You tell ‘em how to vote, Rite?

Jack :  We’re *not*  going to tell them who to vote for…
