WATCH YOUR BACK ! - Just a Minute for Monday 10-13-08

            Howdy on a Monday –

Isn’t it good to know – if you know the Lord – that HE is in touch with everything that’s going on in this confusing world. I really don’t know how folks who have only their intellect or feelings to go on get through these confusing times. I’m not putting them down. I was one and I know a lot who are in that boat. I’m just so thankful a Gideon team of men came to my high school assembly in Montvale, Virginia back in September of 1947 – and handed me a little red New Testament that had a page in the back explaining how I could come to a personal relationship with a person – the Lord Jesus Christ – and come to the point of being assured that HIS sacrifice for ME… was the only way for imperfect me to come to a real relationship with an all powerful, all knowing compassionate God.

Well… I don’t know how I got started off on that note this Monday… just that all I’ve heard or seen or read on TV or in the papers says we’re in for a big dose of uncertainty in the days to come. No matter who wins the election it’s going to be a roller coaster ride with all these fluctuating stock markets and gas prices – and politics. But there is this one unchanging thing in the Universe and that’s God. The Book of Hebrews Chapter 13, verse 8 says: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Anyway, it’s good to come back to basics from time to time just to get our bearings. If you’re feeling ‘tossed about’ – take heart. The Apostle Paul – one of the most educated men in Hebrew History – a scholar among scholars; He found himself confused on the road to Damascus when he, having set out to persecute Christians, was supernaturally called of God to become a messenger of God’s grace – it’s an amazing story and I’m sure most of my journalistic friends think I’m ‘off the track’ at least… but I’d be glad to discuss how I’ve come to faith in Christ and what it means to me and how it works if you’re at all interested. Just use my e-mail (n4zhk@arrl.net) – I’m not selling anything at all… just making myself available to anyone who feels that need.

If you have questions… I’m glad to try and answer them.  If you’re interested in arguing – I’m not. But I’m here to help anyone who wants help.

            Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

WATCH YOUR BACK

Just A Minute – With all the hot air floating around it’s hard to tell some speech is missing. But here’s a case documented by, Michael Barone, of USNEWS who co-edits the authoritative Almanac of American Politics.

He quotes an Obama speech in Elko, Nevada (quote)I want you to talk to [your neighbors] whether they’re independent, or Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face." (unquote) Actually, Obama wants supporters to do more than that – his campaign is egging them on to shut people up.

When conservative, Stanley Kurtz, who’s exposed Obama’s close ties with admitted communist Weather Underground terrorist, Bill Ayers, showed up on WGN, Chicago – Obama’s supporters, alerted by campaign emails, did their  best to shut him up -- jamming WGN’s phones lines and deluging them with protesting emails. The message is clear if you let anyone try to make a case against ‘The One’ – we’ll make trouble for you.”

Is that Obama’s brand of ‘free speech?
