SOLVING THE PROBLEM! -- Just a Minute Radio for Friday 10-03-08

            Howdy everybody –

Didja get enough debatin’ last night?  I believe Mrs. Gov. Palin did herself proud – her parents looked mighty proud. That campaigning and preparing etc. has got to be hard on families. Let’s be in prayer for her. In fact she communicated to the Christian community her desire for prayer (as Ps 27) as she debated last night. Sen. McCain’s turn comes up on Tuesday next I believe… that’s deserving of our prayers also.

There are lots of people out there who don’t seem to know what we’re talking about when suggesting prayer for one another in stressful situations. I feel sorry for them – and to the extent I can I want to help them. I don’t think we should be angry with them. It’s Satan who has them blinded to the blessings which would be theirs with belief in the Lord Jesus. It’s so readily available through the Word… Chapter 3 of John for instance.

Well… I got off track there.

It strikes me we wrestle with this credit-crunch problem (BTW it happens I got an solicited offer to increase my credit card line with Bank of America to over $18,000 – and I didn’t use it and don’t want to use it. I’m thankful right now I have no need of it. But it illustrates what’s wrong with this dilemma… we only know for sure, what we experience.) I’ve not experienced any credit crunch. A gasoline crunch yes… but that was Gustav and friends.

The amazing thing is we don’t take the basic steps for solving the problem. You can’t solve a math problem with a shovel – or dig potatoes with an equation or multiplication table. First step toward problem solving is defining it. All we know out here in the bushes is what we *hear* from those echo chambers called networks. I would urge each of us to contact our representatives. If they’ve stood firm against the bailout … congratulate them… if they’ve voted the other way – don’t make them an enemy tell ’em you love ‘em and want them to see the error of their view. It’s the *right* thing to do.

God bless you this weekend – and remember the LORD is still in control… after all he created all there is!

“JUST A MINUTE”

SOLVING THE PROBLEM

Just A Minute – You’ve seen and heard the good reports of last night’s debate between the VP candidates. Let’s concentrate on the bailout bill vote today. – Basic first step “Define the problem.” All we know is what the “experts” say and the media echoes.

Here’s a clue in the New York Times – Sept. 30th 1999 announcing a ‘pilot program by Fannie Mae largest holder of the nation’s mortgages. It promotes a ‘pilot’ program for less qualified, mostly minority (Hispanics, Blacks, Asians) with credit records poorer than underwriting properly requires.

Fannie Mae’s Chairman and CEO, Franklin D. Rains, rejoiced at the success of his program. He recently departed Fannie Mae with more than 214 million in his pocket, to become a campaign adviser to Senator Obama but even in ‘88 Mr. Raines was looking for even more millions “whose credit is just a notch below …” Now we know where they are

Contact those who will be voting today on this – tell them the answer is at hand. Don’t pass the bill. Work out the problem.
