Seems like the more things change, the more they stay the same.
No matter how we may oppose or inveigh against socially bad language – some folks just seem to gravitate to it. Exhibit “A” Congresswoman Maxine Waters, 73 year old legislator representing the Democrat occupant of that seat in
She has now become the ‘chief agitator’ by a long shot of the Democrats in the House. Seems like if she can’t find an argument to join in she invents one.
I checked her ‘official website’ over the weekend and found half a dozen votes on which she should have voted – she simply skipped them.
One of the big problems we have with legislators in either party who have stayed up there too long they feel the seat just ‘belongs to them’ – they forget they are *representatives* of the people for the district or state they *represent*. That’s why we call it a ‘REPRESENTATIVE’ government. It belongs to ALL the people. Not just the ones who have been elected.
It appears that’s the most common error of elected officials. They forget they are *entrusted* with certain *limited* powers over the people whom they REPRESENT! That’s called ‘the consent of the governed.’ So from time to time it is proper to give them the ‘opportunity’ to return to the area from whence they came and experience life among the ‘represented’. In the current case, I don’t think the election of 2012 can come soon enough to give us the relief for which we are asking. Let’s get about changing that. The first and most important step is PRAYER! Both for wisdom and success!
Well… after midnight again. See you tomorrow DV.
Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”
WE HAVE TO MAKE SERIOUS CHOICES NOW
Just a Minute: Yesterday, I figuratively tried to take New York Representative Democrat Maxine Waters to the woodshed because of her offensive language sending all ‘Tea Party Folks’ straight to [more polite term] ‘Hades.’ But before evening, she was back on the tube with her patented outrage indiscriminately targeting anyone near her line of fire.
In media terms she’s ‘radio active.’ So, big-time media turns a blind eye rather than be called ‘racist.’ Recognizing that, she bludgeons critics, no matter whom. Her stated motto: “I don’t have time to be polite.”
A reasonable and courteous response should be: “Abandon politics then; it’s not your bag.” And follow that with a clarifying question: “Would you rather elect a ‘common-sense’ Cain; or a ‘can’t be bothered with politeness’ Waters? We may dispose of the race issue.
If we’re going to “form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility… and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity” (All from the preamble of our Constitution) -- we need to back up and take a running start.
