Howdy friends… hope things are OK at your house. We’re still on the dry side of drought… but that’ll probably clear up in the Fall.
Which is more than I can say for the political situation. Watch the results of the race today for Congressman Weiner’s vacated seat. If the Republican candidate wins that seat it will be a shocker since I don’t think a Republican has come from there since like the 1920’s or so. But there are strong signals it will happen this time because even the independents in the district are thought to be aiming for electing the GOP man – who has not held office heretofore.
If it turns out that way the Democrats will be ringing their alarm bell for sure.
Meantime, Mr. Obama admits to doing campaigning. His strategy is as simple as hanging it all out on the clothesline to dry. He is proposing a program which will not pass the House…he makes no appreciable effort to tailor what he’s pushing so that it can be supported by at least a part of the GOP… which leaves him free (as far as non reasoning and Machiavellian theory is concerned) to say well… I tried but no matter how I compromised they (the GOP ) would not be reasonable so elect me again if you please.
Unless I miss my guess really badly… I don’t please… and I think the Democrats will find out there is a limit to how far they can push over the line. But I have to add… I’ve been wrong before… and its rather foolish to be definitely predicting what will happen politically more than a year from now. So I’ll stop right here… and tell you we need to be getting the pumpkin pies and the turkey dinners and all ready for celebrating Thanksgiving – because I believe we will be thankful we have only had Mr. O’ at the helm for one term. At least that’s the way I’m thanking the Lord… although He’s not under any obligation to follow my political lead. I only go where My Lord goes – and He does not send me a cheat sheet to tell me what to think or predict for the coming months or years. If my predictions are wrong… then it’s ME to blame not God… Because our Heavenly Father is NOT subject to our pulling on the reins in this instance.
These blogs are getting too wordy too often… so excuse me..I’m trying to get in bed this night before midnight.

Just a Minute: Tim Zagat, got today’s story from Opinion Journal about Nikie, a majestic golden retriever, and his handler Frank Shane. It’s about a dog’s ability to help begin a healing process for patients with mental trauma, in the days following 9/11.

So for eight months they we were welcomed to ground zero where Nikie made unspoken bond animals can make with the injured. Nikie was alert and careful often surmounting obstacles doctors, nurses and firemen could not.
As the last beam was prepared to be lifted out Nikie wore a flag scarf Frank had given out as a tangible reminder of the healing. Frank said he’d already given about 100 scarves but now he needed almost 2000 more and asked one of the store owners if he knew where they might be obtained? – But he had no money.
“Don’t worry about that,” the owner said, “Just tell me how many you need?”
