We’re really (for now) getting some cool pre-fall mornings here in
Of course we’re in the wake of the last hurricane that sauntered out of the Atlantic and moseyed up the East Coast… waiting apparently until it hit
So… they are still recovering as well as problems spread over a large area of NC and other states too I suppose. It’s just hard to keep up with it all. Especially since it’s all interspersed into extreme heat in the South West before they got the extreme and lengthy heat in
Does anyone else get the idea the Lord is sending us certain reminders?
There’s another Atlantic Hurricane… just for old times sake. So… pay attention… and don’t neglect our prayers. Of course I believe the Lord is in charge of all that all the time… and (well I’ll lay down my sermon notes) since I’m not a preacher. But there’s something important about being reminded by a hurricane and an earthquake and fires all within the space of a relatively few days.
Pile an election crisis in on top of all that and it becomes an extremely potent saga. The economic backwash affects just abut all that we do. And gives us some really important things to think about and pray for!
I’ll climb down now. But I appreciate you being here and sharing the load of prayer – for those who believe and believe that HE IS LORD!
Cordially, IN HIM
Jack

“JUST A MINUTE”
FIRST – FIRE ALL THE SPEECH WRITERS.
Just a Minute: The amazing line that broke me up yesterday was from Democratic consultant James Carville. When asked which would he rather do – listen to Obama address a Joint Session of Congress, or hear the GOP candidates debate one another?
His immediate response was reported to be something like, ‘Oh I’ve heard Obama’s speech before. I’ll go with the Republicans.’ Of course I’m not entirely sure that’s accurate because it’s second hand – but it sounds about like Carville.
What astounds me is Mr. Obama allowing Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. -- head of the Teamsters Union – and appearing on the same platform as the President, in Detroit – a city that has suffered terribly losing 25 percent of its population -- dropping from being fifth largest to 18th or 19th in size, shooing auto manufacturing overseas – spouting profane, gutter language to a national audience including children and families -- and then refusing to make the slightest apology.
Mr. President, friends like this aren’t bailing you out – they’re punching holes in your boat. <> I’m Jack Buttram. (END)
