Here we are … with a BIG HOWDY! IT’S FRIDAAAAAAAYYY!
Hope you are feeling well…I am just sleepy. Can’t seem to get done much before 1AM because things come in to the office late.
But that’s OK. We’re making progress…even if we do have to paddle upstream.
Watching the dynamics of the current polling is interesting. One of the things I tend to let take my eye off the prize is that the *election* -- the one that really counts… when the electors from each state get together some time after we of the lowly merely voters class have done with marking, or more accurately, electronically recording our votes – that election doesn’t happen until November 6th of 2012… which I keep reminding myself is a LONG way off.
We have all this criss-crossing campaigning… and the first *real* primary voting doesn’t take place until we get past the New Year… -- so we have TWO Halloween’s and Thanksgivings and at least one Christmas before the actual voting decides anything.
Right now the squabbles begin over the redrawn Congressional Seat races. There will probably be court cases to be decided there. And other stuff… THEN come the two more or less useless conventions because the decisions (especially in the Democratic one – in

MR. OBAMA IS EXCEPTIONAL IN
Just a Minute: Shelby Steele, a senior fellow at Sanford University’s Hoover Institute – writes an article yesterday in Dow Jones’ Opinion Journal, saying today’s leftists have “begun to see through [President Obama] and are surprised at how little is there.”
Steele wrote a 2007 book entitled “A Bound Man” predicting Mr. Obama would not be elected. He explains Obama’s subsequent victory as similar to Louis Armstrong’s “donning the ‘bargainer’s mask’ in [a] bid for white acceptance.”
Professor Steele describes The President as (quote) “a force for mediocrity. … Like me, he is black and it was the government that in part saved us from the ignorances of the people. So the concept of the exceptional-ism – the genius for freedom – may still be a stretch for him. But in fact he was elected to make that stretch. It should be held against him that he has failed to do so.”
