MR. OBAMA SEES, BUT APPARENTLY DOES NOT OBSERVE -- Just A Minute Radio for Friday 110916

Interesting things going on in the Big Apple –

They have ramifications all over the place. While the President is trying to work up a scenario that will keep the Republicans off balance… not able to vote FOR the legislative proposal – and at the same time not willing to vote with it and take away the enthusiasm of the guys and gals making the state a red one.

Frankly, we’re getting ahead of ourselves with these kinds of squabbles at this juncture.  There may be a time for that kind of mud ball throwing later in the contest…. But I doubt it.  O

What’s needed on both sides is an ability to be ladies and gentlemen and see when you’ve been clearly outmaneuvered and graciously retire from the contest because there’s no hope in there at this time. But the tea-partiers are not experienced enough to know the game is not worth the candle – especially in all the money one has to spend in mending fences and getting things back from a medium run with thing working as they should. But the spirit of “NO COMPROMISE – AT ALL” sticks to the shoe leather and makes the contesting ground a site of pettiness… and indeed a sight to recall.

Maybe we should conceive a ‘good sense’ test for legislators and require them to take it every other election… and then agree to submit the decision to a non partisan, good sense panel.  But good grief – where are you going to find one of them.

Well, I have my private repairman waiting for me to turn loose of the machine so he can root some gremlins out… so… see you next week.

Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

MR. OBAMA SEES, BUT APPARENTLY DOES NOT OBSERVE

Just a Minute: The special election held last Tuesday generated some tentative ‘shakes’ in the heavily Jewish New York 9th District – but apparently the electoral ‘quake’ didn’t shake up the White House.

Republican Robert Turner – 70 year old retired cable TV executive -- had been badly outgunned in a previous contest in the 9th by the now disgraced Anthony Weiner who had lorded it over Turner by a significant margin.  This time the tables were turned and Turner beat Weprin by eight points; adding his weight to former Mayor Koch’s continuing campaign to “send a message to Obama.”

Mr. Obama, Mrs. Clinton and former Press Spokesman Bob Gibbs, all have contributed aiming their insults to embarrass Israel’s Prime Minister – but Mr. Netanyahu graciously lets their insults go unnoticed -- while the mainstream media ignores the slights emanating from the Oval office. I believe The President will have plenty of opportunity in the future to repent -- at leisure.
