MOST DON'T KNOW TAJKISTAN FROM UZBECKISTAN -- For JUST A MINUTE Radio for Monday 110919

We thought we were going to at least have some DRIZZLE… but it went FIZZLE – at least here in beautiful downtown Taylors SC.

And the weather isn’t the only thing that’s off track. It seems the President has lost his way… and forgotten the flying busses or whatever else is on his agenda. I’ve not had time to follow his current compass-testing CAMPAIGNING.

Up to now, most Presidential candidates at least try to have some semblance of a *real* reason to go out in the hustings and thus qualify for some kind of half way approval of most of the cost of flying AF One around the country… but it’s really difficult to apply for flying the two backup busses (Built in Candada.) around the nation as a matter of doing government business.  Unless, of course, you consider getting the Commander In Chief re-elected CIN with a straight face. Well, you might as well say you are exploring the possibilities of warming up the northern hemisphere with solar heat, or out-of-the-earth heat.

Of course in that case you’d have to make sure you have got it covered that you would NOT attempt to collect twice on those expenses since ‘hot lava’ heat has existed quite a bit before campaigning like this fell into style and would be approved by the comptroller general…Well.. I’d better not go there.

You’ll get a little bit of a geo-political viewpoint out of today’s JUST A MINUTE. So keep your eyes and ears peeled. It’s sort of a sad story about those little nations being shoved around. First mauled by the Russian’s “Iron Fist” not even in a velvet glove. And then to be neglected and put down by the ‘ptb’ [powers that be] in Moscow. And more or less shoved out in the cold (and it does get cold there) with nobody to help much. Supposedly the UN would come to your aid in such a fix… but not likely this time – and under this Administration.

So – as patient as we can be we’ll continue down the same path toward some kind of reduction in hostilities. Stick with us please.

Cordially, IN HIM

Jack

“JUST A MINUTE”

MOST DON’T KNOW TAJKISTAN FROM UZBECKISTAN

Just a Minute: Most of us don’t know Uzbekistan from Tajikistan – nor do we know where they are.  They are nations in Central Asia, government authorities -- arbitrarily set boundaries assigned by the USSR originally to grow cotton.

Apparently the occupying Russians hardly realize they are rich in natural resources but only hydro-electric facilities were partially developed. The population continues to suffer from a hardscrabble economy and five million central Asians have migrated to live in poverty in and around Moscow. They barely exist on the fringes, are abused by police, and disliked by their once-fellow Russian citizens. Employment is virtually non-existent. They live largely in the woods barely scraping out a living.

Times are bad in Russia and even worse in Tajikistan. The Central Bank reports about $2.3 billion is sent to the Tajik bank from the Russian economy. In December 2008, According to the Tajikistan government 600 Tajiks died in Russia, 84 of them because of hate crimes.

Does this give you an idea of what happens when “Big Government” takes over runs the show? <> I’m Jack Buttram. (END)
