HOWDY – It’s Monday… It’s almost over!
And here I am at midnight writing for Monday… and tomorrow midnight I’ll be writing for Tuesday etc. etc. I can never keep track of what day it really is. J But as Charles Schultz – lately the creator of Peanuts said:: “I have decided just to dread one day at a time.” Now that’s a great motto.
My wife is a poll worker and the word I got today was she needs to be on the spot at 5AM Tuesday morning… the polls don’t close until 7PM on Tuesday… it looks to be a long day and a long week – we’ll have to go through the de-briefing and what this two years of campaigning has finally turned out – and who gets to face the monumental problems ahead – of which we are all going to be a part.
I really do think the most important thing for us all is to back off – take a deep breath and be thankful we were not those who had to make up our minds about signing the Declaration of Independence. Those men were pledging their lives, their fortunes and their ‘sacred honor.’ In most cases they died much poorer in this world’s goods than they started with – but how thankful we should be they elected to make the choice and make such sacrificial pledges. We are all greatly enriched by it as are our descendants.
There are many families even now in our Nation who have made very dear sacrifices especially in terms of lost loved ones – or even lost time with family and enjoying home. How blessed we are with men and women who have endured such sacrificial giving. We are approaching the annual time of Thanksgiving… Let us renew our resolve to BE THANKFUL and express it this year.
Cordially, IN HIM
Jack

“JUST A MINUTE”
THIS IS IT!
Just A Minute – Mike Gallagher, formerly was on the air locally right here in
Let’s take Mike’s advice and realize this is but one event in the history of this great Republic. For good or ill it’s a big bump in the road but well within God’s power and nature to work it out for our good.
A reminder from Ephesians 3:32, -- “Be ye kind one to another tender-hearted, forgiving one another even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
We’re all sinners -- in need of forgiveness. God settles His accounts, justly, in His own time. That’s His prerogative, not ours.
