IF YOU'RE NOT ON THE RIGHT ROAD, *DO SOMETHING!* - for JUST A MINUTE RADIO Thursday 111208

At this point in the contest the finish line looks a *long distance away* -- but the intermediate stumbling (or winnowing lines) will be realized.

The race will sharpen and start to slim down and there will be surprises both good and bad on both sides of the aisle.

Our job is to stick with what we believe is best for the nation and do the right thing!

That shouldn’t be so hard… but when it comes to political contests things get sometimes heated and mysterious and lots of dark shadows seem to cross the paths. However, the one who ‘knows the end from the beginning sees it all. I very distinctly recall thinking the sun was going to have a difficult time surmounting the dawn horizon if John F. Kennedy’s star surmounted the horizon on the morning after the election.

But it did and he did – for about three years. Then shots rang out. And the whole picture of America’s future changed. It stayed that way until the end of LBJ’s term – he had elected NOT to run again… although it was not what the bookmakers thought would happen.

Are we in the same situation now?  The answer is yes and no: Yes we ARE in the same situation in that *the Lord God Almighty* rules in the affairs of man – and if you read Daniel’s speech to the king of the country where he had been taken as a prisoner – you will see things filled out exactlyas the LORD had it planned. Something very similar was happening in Washington in those days also. I think I’d better leave it there and let you wander through those historical days for yourself.

But here we are… It’s the 8th of December – the 342nd day of 2011 – and the 21st Century continues to wind down – we with it. So… Today is as good a day as any to ask the question – the most important question you’ll ask yourself – am I trusting the Lord for my eternal life and salvation?  No need to beat about the bush – no need to say “It doesn’t apply to me.”  You don’t know of anyone these days who has gotten out of this life differently than he or she came in?  We brought nothing in --- we cannot take anything out.  We did not pick the day of our birth – nor can we pick the day of our death (although some people think so.)

So the important thing is to be totally sure your soul’s situation is corresponding with what the Lord has told you (if you’ve read the Bible) or your parents or *someone* has brought you to an effectual decision of what you will do with Jesus. No matter what you may *believe* -- what matters most is what God has left as a record and a narrative of what will happen to every person.  This is a JOYOUS time to be making sure you are reconciled to the Lord – and if you don’t know, ask the Lord – HE will lead you to the person or the information YOU know to make this the absolute BEST Christmas you ever knew!

God bless you… Be diligent in seeking HIM.

Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

IF YOU’RE NOT ON THE RIGHT ROAD, DO SOMETHING!

Just a Minute:  Mitt Romney previewed his “closing argument” on Tuesday in Arizona commencing an aggressive campaign to come from behind with just four weeks before the Iowa contest. He’s touting a new set of TV appearances beginning December 19th on Fox New Sunday. He turned down a Dec. 27th debate moderated by real estate mogul “The Donald” Trump.

es Register shows Gingrich leading by about ten points but Romney says Gingrich’s poll numbers don’t faze him. “We’re just starting,” he said. “We’re making our closing argument. You’ll see me campaigning aggressively.” He continued, “This will probably take longer than a week or two to sort out. My expectation is this will be a campaign that’s going to go on for a while, and I expect to win it.”

He declined opportunities to attack Gingrich at an Arizona news conference on   Tuesday but while in Arizona he picked up the endorsement of former vice president Dan Quayle.  He and his wife, Ann, plan to spend more time campaigning in South Carolina, which holds the third contest.
