Subject: LOTS OF LATINOS LIKE THE SOUND OF R-R TICKET - for Just A Minute Radio Thursday 110623
Wonderful day… We’re glad to be alive with the winds that crashed around here recently.
Last evening we had some really vigorous tree-trimming being done by the winds. I don’t know if you’ve noticed how many places in the USA have been troubled by one thing or another… winds, hail, floods, Japan has had more quakes of the 6+ variety on the Richter scale…Makes a feller wonder just what’s going on.
I’m not a great believer in the climate change crisis mainly because of the perceived character of those who back it or seem to profit greatly from it. Makes the cause suspect in my book. Does that make me skeptical, cautious or looking for goblins under the bed? I guess I’ll pick the first on the list. My Dad was rather thoughtful along those lines. I used to ask about the value of things I saw in the pawn shop window. We often walked home from the RR station where I met him when he got off from his work as a Rwy. Postal Clerk. He was – or communicated to me – caution about things I didn’t fully understand. Like the little key punch cards where you could get a punch out for a nickel that usually just got you a piece of paper with an axiom on it… or maybe a piece of bubble gum if you were lucky and it wasn’t stale.
I think he let me take my chances there because they were small and since I was spending my own allowance money – and essentially ‘throwing it away’ – I think he figured better to let me learn how little ‘gambling’ pays off… when the lessons were cheap(er).
Anyway… I think about him every time I see these double-bargain $19.95 plus S&H offers on the TV… and other gambits to remove you from association with your money. And I thought about him again this past weekend. My kids and grandkids were so thoughtful to provide me little reminders of Father’s Day… how blessed. I’m thankful… and especially thankful for my Heavenly Father – who I suppose also lets me learn things with a degree of discomfort. Guessing wrong when the prize isn’t too expensive… but hurts in the already slim pocketbook – isn’t such a bad technique. I don’t suppose I really employed it enough.
Back to the storm – I see a grandson working on a car he’s trying to repair in order to sell… he’s put in a LOT more work than he intended when he got excited about cars being available here somewhat like they were in Hawaii – ready to be sold… hopefully at a profit… not a ‘killing’ but an honest profit. I’m glad he’s learning…and he’s diligent – and he’s in my prayers.
Well… we’ll let the Lord continue to send us the kind of wx we need… He knows how much rain, wind etc. we need. I’m willing to take my lessons from HIS hands.
Have a great day—
Cordially, IN HIM
Jack

Contacts in the Romney camp say: “Doesn’t a Romney-Rubio ticket sound great?" A senior Romney advisor reportedly adds: "We think this would be a dream ticket." It’s also logical for others to desire such strength added to the team.
Marco was proposed for the presidential race but demurred because he’s new to the Senate. However he’s already a proven vote getter – an important consideration in swing-state
It ought to be noted too, many of the same factors would come into play if
