WHEN YOU COME TO A FORK IN THE ROAD - TAKE IT -- for JUST A MINUTE RADIO.blogspot.com on Friday 1206022

Ah-ha … the heat gets turned up slowly … but gradually it is felt … and the showers must become more frequent (both inside and outside) – Hmm maybe I should re-cast that last… but it’s a hot Friday afternoon.

I hope you and your family are ‘enjoying’ the change of seasons. We hear the gas prices are coasting down… slooowly… not like the pace with which they mounted the cliff. I guess that’s the thing. How quickly they can manage to accommodate the *increase* in prices – and how *sloooowly* do they manage to oversee the reduction in petrol…. Careful now we don’t want to go too fast.

Why does my cynicism quotient go up with the price – but I guess it comes down with the price too…

Anyway – if you have a picnic – or an outdoor meal as we managed to do this week – and the ghost of summers past began to coast around the house. We wondered – why the tremendous variation in the rates of increase and decrease – but then why ruin a perfectly good summer afternoon.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the church services wherever you may be.  Don’t get caught unexpectedly in the downpours – they do happen suddenly sometimes – usually when you have something on that will get damaged by getting wet. But that’s the cost of fashion nowadays isn’t it. (J)

All  the best…Be back with us Monday if the criks don’t rise. (Hadda throw a little Midwestern slang in there.) See you later.

Cordially,  IN HIM

Jack and the whole gang

Some of whom are cleaning up. (J)

“JUST A MINUTE”

WHEN YOU COME TO A FORK IN THE ROAD TAKE IT…

Just a Minute:  Yogi Berra is saddled with muddled sayings like – “When you come to a fork in the road – take it.” As usual it’s ignorant, a slight, derogatory and totally undeserved. -- I doubt Yogi ever said it – and if he did I’m certain he didn’t mean it.

However the propensity for misquotations at someone else’s expense prevails. Yogi, frankly is a dry wit -- and ‘keeper of the common-man’s good sense’. I’d back him over the “Ivy league boys” any day of the week. The real buffoons in the public arena are those who saddle us with stupid stuff allegedly from mouths of folks who are mired in stupidity more than their critics.

Yet here’s the Armed services Commander in Chief sending down a decree that telling the Service Branches to celebrate "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month." It’s ridiculous! One might as well order armed service personnel make mud pies in the middle of the street. It’s not only nonsensical it doesn’t relate to their jobs. It’s stupidity combined with the personification of idiocy; -- no relevance or mandate for commonsense is evident.

Toss it out! <> I’m Jack Buttram. (END)
