Great to be with you today. We had a great Prayer Meeting on Saturday with tremendous results as far as I can see.
The latter part of last week was getting pretty hot with accusations and NFA quotations floating around. (NFA stands for ‘not for attribution’ and is appended to notes reporters send back to their home offices when they’ve written information that is NOT TO BE ATTRIBUTED to the person who spoke it or gave the information out.

Usually such constrictions are honored (especially if the reporter wants to continue to be able to utilize the valued source) but sometimes the info “is leaked” i.e. not for attribution and the person uses it but stands to really get in trouble for doing so. One of the lady reporters for FOX News and other outlets did that with a bit of info she was not supposed to expose and it was the subject of an investigation. She would not give up her source and spent some time in jail for the infraction of security information – until her source gave up the information and released her from her pledge. The source has been penalized but the lady reporter held to her pledge until she got released by the authorities.
Now the information about a lot of things relating to the war in the middle east has occasioned some of these leaks … in which information about how the US came to be informed about where Osama Big Laden was hiding out. (Turns out it was almost in plain view.) But the details about that were released either by the White House or people close to the WH and it’s causing a big stink in Washington… because there are people’s lives who are endangered (the double agents or ‘spies’ or however they may be characterized) and it’s a very secret game with high stakes.
Capturing Bin Laden was a big coup – and likely there’s “payback” going to be vented on *somebodies* and the likelihood of lost lives may be in the offing. The muslim nations are rather notorious for “getting even” when they find out how they’ve been outmaneuvered – and their punishments are harsh to keep it from happening again.
There are even things like planning to blow up subway trains --- or planes – or several dozen other ‘get even’ maneuvers that may threaten intelligence sources or make additional protection hard to achieve. That’s what I was (am) asking people to pray about. I’m not privy to the secrets but I know it goes on – and its one of the ways American soldiers and service personnel maintain protection for American lives and personnel.
Well, you seen the predicament – and as Christians we’re in a very difficult situation often – so that’s why prayer is needed – and I’m glad we’re seeing some result of trying to closedown some of the leaky sources. I may not be able to write all that needs to be known about the problems America faces and the tasks that are assigned to those who look out for America’s safety. I’ll just leave it at that – saying for most of us PRAYER is going to be the *best* solution to this problem – and of course it is the best for being obedient to the Lord.

“JUST A MINUTE”
PRAYER BRINGS RESULTS
Just a Minute: Last Friday I asked those who would join with fellow Christians – Gideons -- in a special time of prayer this past Saturday morning. At our meeting we had between 25 and 30 who met at 7 AM joining for about an hour and a half praying for our Nation. Our Gideon auxiliary wives met similarly at 10:30. In
We quote a promise from Isaiah 55:11 -- “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
We ask for the Lord’s intervention in actions at home and abroad because of major intelligence leaks – relating to Osama Bin Laden’s death. And other intelligence problems. We need HIS protection for our allies, our service personnel – and probably strike against our Nation.
As a newsman, I’ve never seen such sudden major media reaction occasioned by such leaks. It appears the alarm is being sounded.–
