WE SIMPLY HAVE TO WIN -- Just a Minute Radio for Monday 120618

So a new week begins and the old one passes into the archives: (J)

There was a lot of ‘walkin’-- back done last week from the White House – but it really doesn’t seem to change things much. Looking at the Rasmussen polls as well as the others that come in each week and things look about the same. Mr. Romney leads by one or two points – some of the other polls have wider gaps and changing canyons –but essentially they remain tied and I think it will stay that way pretty much until Nov. 6.

There will be some hiccups as we bounce across the party conventions… first for the Democrats in late September and then for the first week in October when the GOP will take their serves across the net. But I think it’s going to be pretty “steady as she goes” because Mr. Obma is about pumping his well dry and Mr. Romney has – as far as money goes – a more dependable source.  Also his donors – Obama’s – are always metering out their donations because they really don’t want to do more than be ‘respectable’ (I’m talking about those who are doing it out of ‘civic’ duty rather than partisanship.) But we’ll see.

Of course there’s always illness, sickness or even death which can change the entire votescape – which brings us back to control central, if I may be so bold.

All one needs to do it look at the Biblical account of who won what, when and how. My key note is to see how Ahab died when he went to the battle he supported with King Jehoshaphat…and if you simply look at First Kings Chapter 22 you will note in verse 34 a ‘certain man’ drew a bow at a venture  -- which is simply saying he shot his arrow at random and it struck King Jehoshaphat “between the joints of his harness”  (which is to say he was covered in Armor from head to foot BUT there are chinks in the armor at the joints and God aimed a randomly shot arrow into a space where the arrow could mortally pierce King Ahab – a wicked king who deserved to die because of his ungodly opposition to the Lord…” well, you know the rest of the story.

There is no opposition to the Lord that can prevail – God sees and HE knows. That’s one of the things these kinds of discussion brings out. We who read them must take them in and whether we like it or not God’s word prevails. There’s no changing that. You can take it to the bank – bank on it – count it as done whatever – there is no overturning God’s will. That’s where I will stop – and let you pray about it and think it over. God’s work is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword – (or arrow) piercing dividing winning the battle for the Lord. That’s the way it HAS been – that’s the way it WILL be … Please I beg of you – you only bring God’s wrath – his HOLY and Righteous WRATH against you when you turn aside HIS offer of grace. I know of no way to say it more plainly.

Thanks for being with us today. Praise the Lord YOU have heard of God and HIS love! That is what causes me great thanksgiving!

Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

WE SIMPLY HAVE TO WIN

Just a Minute: Louisiana’s Governor Bobby Jindal posted this note on the Red State Blog last week.

The President had to quickly retract his recent comment that the private sector was doing fine. … The problem is the private sector is so foreign to our President – “He would need a passport to go there and a translator to know what was happening.”

The Gov. continued: “I made the comment that prior to being President, Obama had never run anything [not even a lemonade stand] It’s a fun line …the problem is it’s the truth! … We put a guy in the White House who has no experience running anything. – In that sense the joke’s on us … America simply cannot afford another four years of on-the-job training.”

Jindal was not finished yet: “… it’s worse than that – it’s basic incompetence – he is also the most incompetent president since Jimmy Carter.” He (Gov. Jindal) concluded with the idea that those who yell “the sky is falling” should note the sky really IS falling and the remedy for compounded incompetence is to hire Mitt Romney <> I’m Jack Buttram.
