GIDEON BROTHERS & SISTERS CALLED TO PRAY -- Just A Minute Radio for Friday 120608

This has been one dickens of a week to wind up with all that’s going on… but we’re here! Praise the Lord – He gives the victory.

Saturday morning the Gideons all across America have agreed on a day of prayer so we’ll be meeting at 7AM for about an hour and 20 minutes while we pray for Gideons around the world as well as here at home. Please join us as you can..

Thursday it seemed as if the dam had broken and the Johnstown flood of bad news proceeded.

From Washington came news stories about secrets that had been apparently deliberately leaked to news outlets. The stories identified in certain ways the people and agents who had helped capture and kill Osama bin Laden. The how whens and wherefores are not out in the newspapers. But apparently – and according to Sen. John McCain, much has been compromised about our abilities to track and find America’s enemies.

The difficulties arise in that many of the overseas secret (make that read spy agencies) are no longer willing to work with us because of leaks apparently utilized to promote the top people in the White House when they should remain secret.

WE in America are thus opened possibly to more attacks and weakened defenses because of attempts to make the President and his cabinet appear tough and powerful to the detriment of keeping our ‘powder dry’ as long as we may need these defenses for ourselves and our armed forces.

It’s sort of like seeing a “shadow show” on a screen – you don’t know what’s happening – you’re just informed it’s no good.

So while we await further revelations – the most important thing for us as Americans to do is to pray and trust the Lord that there will not be secret attacks and further damage to America as has been done in the 9/11 attacks on Washington, and New York as well as the other ‘bombers’ and attempts to blow up the New York Subway system etc. We don’t know what’s going on…. Only that it is I not good.

So… let us turn to the ONE who can protect us and make all these things turn out for good – Our Heavenly Father who watches over us all the time. HE is ABLE to do EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL that we can ask or even think.

Well… I don’t wish to alarm you. I do wish to encourage prayer for God’s will in our nation and to trust IN HIM for all things.

GIDEON BROTHERS & SISTERS CALLED TO PRAY

Just a Minute: Saturday morning is a special day of prayer, Gideons and their wives – about, 135,000 in all, are called to engage in special prayer.

The President’s Prayer Team out of Washington says: Prayer is sorely needed and in our particular area around Greenville, there will be seven ‘camps’ holding a 7 AM prayer service for about an hour and a half. My wife and I have for years participated in distributing scriptures in schools, churches, offices of doctors and lawyers, hotels and motels – places where people work and stay when they travel.

This week there are stories of intelligence leaks to news outlets described as disturbing which Sen. John McCain of Arizona calls “disturbing” and “unacceptable.” The Senator says the White House has put the President’s ambitions for another term of office ahead of national security.

If you are in any degree of agreement, I simply ask you to join in prayer to Almighty God for a proper solution to this problem: the welfare of our nation and service personnel is in the balance. (PAUSE) Thank you, and keep on praying. <> I’m Jack Buttram. (END) Jebco Editorial Service
