Welcome to the new week.
How was your weekend? Mine was recoveryville. Turns out I let my immunesysem idle-down too far and got an upper bronchial infection that makes me cough like a car that won’t start --- won’t start --- won’t start… you get the idea.
But I’m getting better… and am thankful for the Lord sending me a good Doc… who has saved my life I figure 3.5 times… and maybe more. Anyway… he knows what he’s doing and does it well. It meant I had to cancel an eye checkup – but that was OK… I try to be a good patient and not make other people into patients.
What strikes me most about what’s going on politically this past seven days or so is this continued outbreak of politicians who seem to take one step forward and three backward into the sink holes of Baskerville Moor. (It’s a treacherous moor in England invented by Conan Doyle as a convenient and rather horrible place to get rid of a character or two who might have crowded up the finale too much when Holmes and Watson managed to puzzle out what was happening.
Funny thing about Sherlock Holmes stories…I remember reading at least some of them when I was Jr. High or so… but to this day I don’t know that I remember but one or two of the conclusions of those stories… I recall some of the more vivid characters… but not the exquisite detail of just how the crime was discovered or the end of the story. It’s all just as well… I can enjoy the story one more time.
Unfortunately, figuring out the mystery of WHO is going to grab the brass ring which is the 2012 Presidential Primary Contest on the GOP side is a multi- Character line up – and even with my crystal ball I’m unable to decipher it at present… I think I know one or two who will not be up on election night 2012… but even there perhaps I’m wrong… I’ve been wrong before.
Anyway… I’m not staying up late worrying about it – but I do pray a good bit. (J)>
I need now to wrap things up and get in bed… before my Dr. gets after me again.
Thanks for being with here with me… look for you tomorrow.
Cordially, IN HIM
Jack
“JUST A MINUTE”
HERE’S A LEAD ON REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP
Just a Minute: Gov.Huckabee was the weekend news revealling he woulf NOT to run for President. I, say good call.
My concern is there be -- not just political but -- servanthood considerations given primary standing in making choices. Mr. Obama’s Administration is plagued by inability, or unwillingness, to deal with primary issues of honesty, and consistent treatment of voter concerns.
Domestic politicians –even international ones – are encountering intolerably difficult “character” issues; accumulating shadows of immorality and thus calling into question the office-holder’s integrity and opening that office to blackmail or extortion. Therefore, it is imperitive every political organization rigorously examine itselt and its candidates to make plain the great need of our times which demand integrity and uprightness.
To that end, I suggest especially for this election we turn to the Holy Scriptures which so wisely councelled our forefathers – such as:“And whosoever of you will be the chiefest , shall be the servant of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”. (Mark 10:44-45). <> I’m Jack Buttram. (END)
