Fine crisp morning… not quite so cold here as the morning before…
And the WX wizards tell us by the weekend we’ll begin really having summertime weather… and let’s pray for no more rain for the MS river basin… they’ve suffered enough already!
Interesting – I read a story a couple days back about the “cold spell” that usually comes in May – around the middle – and it catches some of the gardens in the north particularly with a killing frost. I guess it’s even gotten down this way in SC sometimes. But it’s unusual in that it hits in that general time with some regularity and bothers the farmers and vegetable gardeners no end.
There’s no explaining it apparently… it’s just one of those things that happens but not so regularly that you can anticipate it with accuracy.
If you read the blog – you’re reading some of the wonder I began to experience with the kind of reshuffling that’s going around in the line up of the need to get cracking on the 2012 election.
Considering my present age… I’m not so sure I want to go hurrying through these ‘sunset years’ as fast as the election workers do… Obviously they want to ‘get the jump’ on the competition. Someday everybody will wake up to the problem of shooting ourselves in the foot by pushing the next election to get here quicker. WE don’t need to do that… by the time the *second* Labor Day comes around in the two year cycle… I’m ready to go back to having Congress restricted to meeting only 4-5 months out of the year..and that NOT during the nominating or electing cycle.
But all the new election “experts” know best – and they have devised some BRAND NEW PLAN to get their principle person elected and are anxious to try it out. I started getting tired of hearing about elections when I was 10 years old or so. And on this current one we’re getting sucked in on… they hardly put away the ballot boxes and voting machines in time to get them out again.
Well… I suppose it’s no need to beat on that dead horse again.
