Hello Everyone –
We’re still operating on stand by program and data transfer etc… but hoping to get a sense of normalcy before the end of the year.
Seems like it always rains and pours at the same time – according to the old saying. On the days when I have appointments that are not earth-shaking but important not to miss or hurt feelings or seem to slight someone – things seem to pile up. However one of my wiser roommates in college said to me – he was older and wiser – “The Lord knows there is always enough time to do what needs to be done. If you can’t get it done… then either you weren’t trying or HE doesn’t need to have that done just now.”
Plus the University President said “Duties never conflict.” – to which we sophomores added under our breath… “They just overlap.” And so they appeared to. But now that I’m in the ‘older and wiser’ class myself and have the advantage of years of seeing the Lord prove Himself true and faithful… and never late nor early. I see that there were a lot of things I ‘fretted’ about that weren’t worth the bother. Trouble is – that happened 50 + years ago… why haven’t I learned that lesson and apply it now? I guess I’m still learning.
The WWII vets – now on the GI Bill when we were going to school together – would chime in with the cheery GI Joe note… “It goes along like this for a while… and then it gets worse.” Which was pretty typical of the Bill Mauldin cartoons carried in those days. He was the champion of the ‘Dogfaces” as the infantry men used to call themselves. If you’ve never looked up that humor… you’ll find it very interesting in a sort of fatalistic way.
Time to go. Have a great Thursday.
Cordially, IN HIM
Jack
