HERE'S SOMETHING A LITTLE OUT OF THE ORDINARY -- Just A Minute Radio for Monday 120813

OK – we’re at the top of the hill – ready to bobsled down to November 6th when we expect to conclude Mr. Obama’s term at POTUS and replace him with Mr. Romney. Won’t that be a glorious day when we hit bottom and start back up!

Not much doubt about it, we’re going to have a notorious climb back into a reasonable economic picture – and it’s not going to happen overnight. But we will have a certain enjoyment in seeing things get batter rather than worse. We’re just going to have to be patient and follow the leader. The reason I say that is I think Mr. Ryan has already demonstrated his abilities and capabilities to give sound advice. To the extent he’s been able to exert leadership in the Budget Committee heretofore there’s been good results. The trouble has been it’s been watered down to smoke and NOTHIN.  Certainly this is the first time in modern times that the legislature has operated *without* a budget totally.

I think and I hope there will be so many changes demanded by the remaining Democrats they will shortly begin to see the beneficial effects of having a budgetary team on duty that knows where it needs to go and how to get there. This motley majority crew has been without leadership so far and flown by the seat of their pants (or with no guidance at all except from “Dirty” Harry) so long that it’s going to take some time to get the Dems to realize this is a new day a new team and we’re going to be wrestling with a *mountain* of debt. Until we get the ship ‘righted’ and on a reasonable course. We’re going to be vulnerable to the “stupidity” waves that are the result of the “LOOK MA - NO HANDS” policies that have largely been in place by Mr. Obama and his cohorts. Getting back on track and out of the swamp is going to be a gigantic task – and we’re going to have to be patient and cheerful.

Well, I’m crossing that bridge before we get to it; the first task is to get the ship back upright and headed in the right direction… that’s going to take time and toughness. Everybody’s going to expect miracles. BUT if we apply the same diligence that came into play when Chick-fil-A was under attack – we will be able to achieve that kind of result. And to get that in gear will take the same kind of attitude and *prayer* that caused the success for Mr. Cathy and his crew.

He wasn’t mean to anybody – just dedicated – briefed his troops … set his eye on the prize and broke all the previous records. We can do the same thing with this task if we just stay united and dedicated to the Reagan-like Administration effort begun in 1980. It CAN be done it just takes aim and effort – we can pull it off with lots of prayer.

Lets’s get to it!

Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

HERE’S SOMETHING A LITTLE OUT OF THE ORDINARY

Just a Minute: Since possibly you’ve already heard more than you wanted to about Paul Ryan taking on the task of winning the vice presidency as Mr. Romney’s running mate. I wanted to point out something a little out of the ordinary for today. For instance did you know a Teddy Roosevelt campaign button recently sold for $24,500 in a collector’s hotel room even before the APIC convention began which met in Columbus, Ohio week before last. APIC is the American Political Items Collectors convention.

Another campaign item sold for $26,000 depicting the 1920 Campaign of James M. Cox and his running mate Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It was described as very rare because only 60 or so are thought to exist due to campaign money being very low that year. It was the year Warren Harding won in a landslide. A Harding-Coolidge button brought only $8,000.

I just thought you’d like to know. A Strom Thurmond poster brought twenty-five-hundred – so keep your eyes open. You never can tell – in some instances even losing can winning. <> I’m Jack Buttram. (END)
