WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH GOVT. IN THE O.R.? -- Just a Minute Radio for Tuesday 120717

Seems like some days it’s easy – today it was hard. No two days exactly a like.

Well… it’s been a long day and a long week with all the things this crew’s been through… so no need to drag them through the keyhole.

We appreciate the concern and care that’s being so well expressed here. Perhaps soon we’ll come out of the tunnel into the sunshine again – in which case we’re due to express our appreciation all the more.

No question but there are hard roads ahead and hills to climb it would appear. So our appreciation and thanks really knows no bounds.

The days and nights just seem to run right into each other – our thankfulness is overflowing.

Thanks and we’ll be back tomorrow with the Bait Shop and Sushi Bar and their contributions so Tune in then please to 94.5 on the FM dial in upper South Carolina and portions of TN WV and NC and Virginia.  What a beautiful world to be in.

Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH GOVT. IN THE O.R.

Just a Minute: In 2004 – 87percent of all medical-device studies were performed in the USA. Five years later the number of studies were cut to 45 percent.

A case I point is an aortic valve replacement – often performed on older heart patients. The procedure is approved in Europe, but current constraints mean more than 15 thousand patients around the world are slated to die before US doctors (and others) are approved to use this device already saving lives in Europe.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been questioned for not utilizing current tools even while asking for new authority. So far both political parties continue to express concern the FDA’s misuses of regulatory authority thus cutting back on innovation, job creation and quality of patient care.

Some Americans can seek care in Europe because they are sufficiently healthy, but in the intervening years thousands of patients too ill to travel or to survive open-heart surgery simply await death.

Obama-care will only make the problem worse – it ought not to happen and so onece more government over-regulation results of thousands of unnecessary deaths.
