EVENTS TAKE AMAZINGLY RAPID TURNS - For Just A Minute Radio on Friday 120706

This has been amazing week – and I don’t say a mis-statement when I say we’re just trying to ‘live through it.’

 

It’s well after midnight – this has been a challenging day – So I’m not sticking with this assignment too long.

 

What I do want to do – effusively – is to thank all the people who have been so generous with their prayers and encouragement. We even had one and a half contacts from the west coast.

 

An old buddy who traveled with me over many hundreds of miles holding the FRIENDS OF FREE CHINA together… and we went around the globe several times I’m sure when it was all added up. But the news of our son’s argument with a car and pavement and his near losing his life (even now it’s touch and go I suspect) called to pray with us on Thursday.  How supportive all of that is.

 

Frankly I think the people who want to oppose Christians don’t realize what a force (not an armed force except with prayer) they’re up against.

 

You know if you know that your commanding general is the guy (I use the term affectionately) who created the Universe – put the stars on their courses and put the whole universe together (and we haven’t even scratched the surface of all that yet) it’s foolish to think you have a ghost of a chance of outwitting the God who set all this up.

 

Problem is I’ve not been very successful in convincing people with the ignorance I advertise – when they don’t realize the wonder of the person I work FOR.

 

If they stopped to think over the Arctic ice patch or the wonders of Antarctica .. or the islands of the Pacific – just to point out a few that we’ve hardly even given a good glance. – If they did some *thinking* some evaluation of what they’re up against (force-wise) they’d throw down their slingshots and come begging on their knees for a chance to get in the kingdom.

 

Thing is they’ve got an invitation if they’ll only take it….and I’m just the one to explain it to them (believe that and you’ll buy the Brooklyn Bridge from my gangly assistant for a little now and a whole lot later.)

 

Well.. it’s late (or early – when am I writing this?) The main thing for you is to get down that Bible or open up the little Gideon placed testament  -- the ones that about a million with the snap of your fingers are carrying the good news of the Gospel into our land as well as the foreign lands… well it’s too exciting to talk about late at night.

 

We love you. We’d love to get the Gospel to you… Satan wants just the opposite.  To whom are you going to pay attention?  Think about it. I’ll see you (DV—that means :”Lord Willing”) next week. God be with you. Amen.

“JUST A MINUTE”

EVENTS TAKE AMAZINGLY RAPID TURNS

            Just a Minute:  Yesterday as I was writing the script for Thursday we suddenly had news of a major auto/pedestrian accident on the 4^th in Beckley, West Virginia. The pedestrian was our son Kim, who, crossing the four lane road after the Beckley fireworks display was struck by a driver who did not see him.

          The collision in a 55 mph zone threw him two car lengths over the top and seriously damaged his body and head. He was transferred by air from Beckley to the Charleston Hospital Center for care and treatment. At this writing he is stable but in a coma being attended by hospital staff and doctors.

          The most important thing to communicate is our Heavenly Father is graciously in charge of it all. We have been in this familiar situation before confident of His total and continuing care. Please know how your concern so deeply touches our hearts. We are thankful for your concern and God’s great goodness through it all. Thank you so very much! We survive by God’s grace and your prayers.
