EGYPT -- ALWAYS THE WEAK REED -- NEEDS HELP -- for Just A Minute Radio for Friday 111014

And the bus arrives at the end of the week.  Thankfully we look forward to a day or so of something different from that daily grind.

The idea behind today’s and yesterday’s programs is to jolt our thinking into something other than what’s going on in Washington. We do get a smattering of other information but we have to work at it. By the time the weekend goes by our brain cells will begin to work on things other than Democrats and Republicans. It’s pretty easy to get stuck in a rut. (L)

BTW… what’s the difference between a grave and a rut?  The walls are steeper on the grave.--- So… I’m working on thinking of something other that what Mr. Obama is doing today – or may be doing tomorrow. Somewhere in this weekend there is a State Dinner.  For the Korean President I think…

Anyway… it will be something different. And perhaps you can take time to read a book or study your Bible or *something* that’s not in the RUT called up by the TV or radio conversation.  Here’s a good idea… if the sun comes out see if you can capture a picture of the autumn leaves.  They won’t be here forever you know. (J)

So… I suggest a variation from the well-worn thought paths the newspaper or TV news or whatever else leads you into.  Wiggle those little grey cells in between the ears.  They’re good for something else.

OK… I’ll stop the lecturing if you’ll do the breaking out of the dull routine… and we’ll see you again next week. Have a Holy Sunday!

Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

EGYPT – ALWAYS THE WEAK REED – NEEDS HELP

Just a Minute: We’re practically ignoring huge caches of weapons from Libya now entering Egypt. They flood black markets in the unstable Sinai Peninsula. Rick Santorum, sounds the alarm about that Gaza border.

You may recall Mr. Santorum supported Sen. Arlen Specter when George Bush was President – President Bush was implored to support conservative Pat Toomey – but he stuck with Specter with much regret.

Mr. Romney gave a lot of poor advice in his race to be governor of Massachusetts. He would re-word it today. But I also look at the virtually impossible task of leading the Salt Lake Olympics out of a red ink-disaster into a total financial winner.

The old saying in politics is: “You can’t beat somebody with nobody.” The urgent question facing America in 2012 is who can rescue America from a red-ink Tsunami and put us on the upward road in 2013. I like a lot of the candidates – but right now I think Mitt can be most likely to put us on the right road.  But I want the Lord to lead us all.
