A PLAN TO DEFEAT OBAMACARE -- For JUST A MNUTE RADIO -- Friday 110107

Ah… the arctic smell of the winter air in early morning… Just can’t live without it.  Try holding *your* breath for a minute or two. (J)

Washington’s back at it again.  All the nice ‘window dressing’ words uttered in the House and the Senate… all gone for naught.  The irritations and accusations and discombobulations of the 111th Congress are mostly still there. A majority of the people there were there in the 111th Congress… True enough there are some new faces and in the House… and perhaps they’re not hardened to the process as yet.  So let’s give a little credit to the new frosh class including the “Tea Partyites” (that has a refining sound doesn’t it) and we can *always* hope that things will get better on the ‘sincerity’ score… but after convening over a hundred times… it doesn’t look likely.

One never knows. Perhaps an out of the north “Chinook” wind of good humor and straightforwardness will result one of these days.  One can always hope.

If you hear the audio track of the plan I give voice to… I will tell you it didn’t spring out of my own brain.  Dick Morris – who is an excellent tactician at the very least – even though by my count he has come up short on other important scores and it’s not my job to score him publically – he does have a quick brain… and a lot of Washington experience, much longer on the other side of the partisan fence.  So… I think the outline of the plan he has voiced in NEWSMAX and possibly on FOX NEWS or other places – is of course not secret, and I have no personal communication from him as to how dedicated he is to seeing it carried out.  But Dick does have drive. He has sold a lot of books… and he keeps several responsibilities bouncing in the air almost all the time.

He’s a survivor – but I would guess if he were to meet either of the Clinton’s in a dark ally with no witnesses… he might come away carrying the scars of war. However – for the present we count Dick as someone who wants to see the current status overthrown – and beyond that we have no way of seeing into his inner motives.  BUT – he proposes a plan (outlined in the script below) which to me seems to have its hazards, but they are no more risky than awaiting the Democrats who would gladly start up their steamroller and mash you flat (politically speaking) if they had the chance.

So… you’re getting a close-up inauguration of what’s called the ‘political wars’ – and perhaps you’re getting a more full-color presentation than normally would be the case. I’m interested to see if Dick and company can pull it off… in that case we won’t feel like we’ve been treading water two years from now.

            Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

A PLAN TO DEFEAT OBAMACARE

Just a minute: - Dick Morris – who comments on Fox News TV – believes repealing Obamacare *can* be successful, not just symbolic. I’m not always on board with Morris but he’s an excellent strategist.

First, there’ll be the House vote. If sufficient Senators decide to join to reshape the legislation, it possibly could pass the Senate – but not very likely. Regardless of any Senate or White House move, next would be defunding it – which would trigger a veto.

The last move requiring determined steady nerves and no crowing – will be to attach defunding to legislation the President cannot afford to veto, such as an extension of the debt ceiling.  To veto that could throw U.S. good faith and credit into chaos. The President would be putting the noose around his own neck.

The plan is doable and God willing, it could put us back into a situation enabling us to clamber out of this health-hole with a chance at long term success.  I’m certainly willing to pray about it.  Will you?
