DOES A MOUTH HAVE MORE THAN TWO SIDES? -- Commentary for JUST A MINUTE RADIO for Tuesday 110111

Howdy folks from beautiful South Carolina where the warmth of Global Warming seems to have lost it’s way:

We are dealing here with the heat of rhetoric – which, as you know varies with the location and vehemence with which it is launched.

The terrible events over the weekend in Tucson are both alarming and unfortunately expected.  Certain of the news organizations who have it in for FOX news and Conservative talk radio are looking to make a major event out of the attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.  Of course our prayers are with her and her husband and family. It’s a terrible thing that’s happened. And now there will be a continuing drama going on there.

Of course we mourn also for the six families that are affected by the killing and the wounding of another 13 or 14…  Tucson is in the bulls eye for the problem of illegal aliens coming over from Mexico and with all the problems that have been boiling over there – compounded by the drug cartels that are becoming so vicious and savage in their tactics.  The world seems a continually degenerating place. I’m sure that’s one of the big concerns for the people who live there.

These are apparently the times we have been instructed to look for – wars and rumors of war.  The wars don’t have to be declared by nations…. It can also be warring factions – and over drug profits.

Frankly given the propensity of individuals to act in their own motivations which are often covered in greed and government looking the other way – I see no short term cure for this situation. It will have to be the Lord’s doing in either a spiritual revival or a breakdown to the point where people are serious about praying our way out of the difficulty. [Or a Miracle.] We will do the best thing for ourselves and for our neighbors to be serious about praying for our nation and our future.

As I write this I have no one to turn to for a solution except the Lord. He is our first and best one to turn to.  You are in the same boat with me if you are a believer.  I would like to hear from you if you are praying and will post the news (not identifying anyone… just indicating how the Lord is working. We have forces at work trying to dim the light of the Gospel – I don’t know that they are more vigorous than before… except that the Lord has indicated things will grow worse toward the end of the age.  And I’m expecting that. But we are enjoined to pray—and that is indeed the most effective and comforting activity.

God bless you for being here… and let’s join together for our Nation and our families.

            Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

DOES A MOUTH HAVE MORE THAN TWO SIDES?

Just a minute: -Dissimulation” – It’s a word used to disguise or feign one’s meaning – it’s never been utilized with more speed and dexterity than between the Tucson shootings last Saturday and now.

It took less than 22 minutes for Paul Krugman, columnist of The New York Times, – to label the gunman on the TIMES blog -- before the shooter’s name was even known -- as ‘most likely’ a right-wing nut.

Following that lead Tucson Sheriff Dupnik – elected Democrat in charge of the investigation pronounced his “personal opinion” it was right-wing critics who were responsible for the attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Even MSNBC’s previously suspended political commentator, Keith Olbermann demanded rhetorical restraint even as he fingered Limbaugh, Beck and Fox News for poisoning the political atmosphere even while ignoring the case of Major Nidal Hassan – who is a Muslim, killed 13 – wounded dozens more -- at Ft. Hood Texas in late 2009.

Hey everybody – where’s the restraint?
