A hah… caught you… you thought *I* was asleep at the switch… Well it was only *partial*… I had just forgotten to record the audio track. How stupid of me.
Somebody said in my hearing this past week: “Stupid you can’t fix” – Incompetent you can fire!
Well that *may* be so – but it’s hard to fire yourself if you’re the only guy in the shop. That’s a keyhole view of our magnificent set up here. It’s quite comfortable, I just find myself ‘asleep at the switch’ or the mike as the case may be – at least there’s no one around to be embarrassed in front of. (I think I’ve missed the 5th grade grammar lesson again.) Some things we just never catch on to.
This week produces a very welcomed glimmer of light. We’re not at the end of the tunnel yet – and I don’t think the light is the headlamp of an oncoming train. But it is comforting to think that *someday* beyond the pearly gates I won’t be stuck in the same ditch with the same mistakes buzzing about inside my head. Fortunately on Wednesdays I have company – and can talk with them and one or two can remind me of the errors I make.
But then if I do that in even a small company – well…. People look at you rather strangely and wonder who it is you’re talking to. I saw a fellow at a lunch counter (Although it was breakfast – wonder why they got named lunch counters… you can eat breakfast or dinner there if the time is right?) – and I think he was working on a crossword puzzle… talking with himself…or some invisible person nearby. I have to admit – in immediate and urgent situations… like avoiding a bicyclist… I tend to give myself verbal commands. Fortunately it’s not too startling to my wife or other passengers. But we do have our moments. She is inclined to – with little noises, like sudden intakes of breath or a series of “OH OH Oh…..” she gets my attention in time to ‘Mind the cows in the pasture or any other passing distraction. (J)
Now if she finds out I told you about it… well…she’ll keep on doing it anyway … it’s reflexive. Her family owned a 1922 Essex she says and I think having to back it up the hills in

“JUST A MINUTE”
A NEW CLUB JOINS THE SCENE
Just a Minute: John Ellis “Jeb” Bush was the 42nd Governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007. He was born into the Bush Family January ‘53 – So I’m welcoming him to the “JEB” club – where we share initials.
We’ve been waiting a long time for Gov. Bush to declare who he’s backing in the current election. Within hours of Mr. Romney’s 12 point victory he released an important endorsement of Gov. Romney and urged Messrs Gingrich and Santorum, to gracefully retire since there’s virtually no way for them to win sufficient delegates to win the Tampa convention. They are now prolonging the damaging and costly contest. They should gracefully retire and let us get mount our ‘defeat Obama’ effort.
If you want to read Gov. Bush’s statement and a comprehensive history -- Google News Max. It is a detailed and worthy summary of his views and his governorship. An immediate cease-fire would relieve us of the current sniping which damages our chances of removing our incompetent President.
