THE TRIAL IS *FINALLY* OVER - for Just A Minute Radio - Wed. 110706

Hope all is well at your house. We had our first rain that was light but at least sort of soaking yesterday.

The flowers and grass seem to do better with rain than with watering.  Must be they discern it’s from the hand of God rather than through my hose.

This Trial of the young lady – who has already been sitting in Jail for about three years – is a sad and difficult story.

You can tell it’s difficult when the News Fox Contributor with the handlebar moustache, who normally has his opinion first out of the box, was somewhat diminished at the verdict – even his hosting partner – the former night court judge “J” – was somewhat flabbergasted at his change of mind.

What sort of takes me aback is the attention and all given to this case. Whoever said it amongst the commenting crowd was right in my view when they pointed out that TV watchers of crime or “reality” *shows* are used to watching just that…. A SHOW … that has a happy or justifying ending.  That is it comes to a conclusion that someone was right and someone was wrong.

Life doesn’t come in such neatly wrapped packages. Right now we still don’t *know* who killed the little two and a half year old and “disposed of” the body. But I would remind you that God does know – and HE will render perfect justice!

There were a lot of quirks and mix-ups in this trial. They had to truck the jury in from another County… which is not particularly unusual but for all the trouble of picking and swearing the jury etc. etc… it drug on and on. As I didn’t even see the beginning and was too busy taking care of other things to spend the time in font of the TV catching up with the ‘latest.’

Frankly, the media (Including FOX and their friends) were too much taken in about the whole thing. Not that it was not a heinous crime;(or possibly an accident in which a caretaker panicked) and not that the perpetrator should have been caught and ‘brought to justice’ to quote our 43’rd President. But things do not work out so neatly in the real world. And this was the real world. Bill O’Reilly may *think* he has a handle on how the matter should have been handled… but that’s exactly the reason why he’s a TV talking head and NOT a Judge or prosecutor.

Even though tennis is played on a ‘court’ it’s not the same as a trial. And there are *reasons* -- they don’t always work out perfectly, and even the judges turn out to make mistakes as do the prosecutors, witnesses, lab people etc. etc…. It’s not a precise and never failing system – Why? Because human’s are not precise and never-failing… only God is.  And God knows… You need not fear, God is righteous and you may rest totally assured God will bring total Justice to bear – and the little girl is in Heaven.

So with that – I’ve probably written enough to get myself in hot water… so time to put it to bed.

Glad to have YOU with us today.

God bless you – Cordially, IN HIM

Jack
