IF A WEEK STARTS OFF LIKE THIS - WHAT WILL FRIDAY BRING? -- Just A Minute Radio for Monday 110718

Well… we had a few nice days back there “buckos”… But a return to ‘Dog Day Hot’ is in the offing -- says the Doppler weather man.

I will say I’m getting a nice crop of dandelions in the front yard… – which is opposite to what I wanted. (L)

However, there are more important things to be “Blue” about than dandelions. One of them is the “Big Time Yard Sale” we planned for May… and here we are more’n half way through July and it’s too hot to work up to and past noon.  But we’re a-gittin’ there … which on a hot day takes a lot of optimism.

Beyond that I seem to be losing the fight with the squirrels.  They are *persistent* and inventive – and if I didn’t know better, “ABLE TO LEAP TALL BUILDINGS AT A SINGLE BOUND.”  No… that’s the old billing ‘Superman’ used to have.

Today – since it’s Monday… and that’s a good blue day – I’m moaning about us not being able to make a dent in discouraging the people that are bound and determined to saddle us with a backbreaking budget and we don’t seem to be able to do much about it. I surely hope the wind changes from the east after November of 2012… maybe it won’t be too late… Like John Paul Jones said: “Don’t give up the ship!” I always liked that story so often re-told in elementary school.

Ladies and Gentlemen… we will persevere right through till fall.  Things will get better – but it will seem interminable. Let’s stick with it… that’s one good thing to do with the high humidity that comes in summer… Remind yourself to stick with it right to the end!

Cordially, IN HIM –

“JUST A MINUTE”

IF A WEEK *STARTS OFF LIKE THIS* WHAT WILL FRIDAY BRING?

Just a Minute: The Supreme Court’s in recess – but questions still exist asked by 49 members of Congress concerning conflicting answers in e-mails authored by Justice Elanor Kagen being examined for the high court.

The lawmakers believe so far evidence reveals Kagan must recuse herself from involvement with the health care bill while she was serving as his Solicitor General.       Recently released Justice Department documents reveal her active participation with Obama colleagues formulating the case -- wrote the 49 congressmen.

The DOJ has not cooperated in providing full information. Senator Tom Coburn asked in her sworn testimony if there was “any time you were asked in your present position [as Solicitor General] to express an opinion on the merits of the health care bill?” Her answer: “There was not.”

Possibly that was so – but it is clear Kagan encouraged her top deputy, to participate the defense saying, “You should do it.”-- But not to say anything about that question without directly coordinating with her (Kagan).

Seems like a pretty shaky case to me. <>I’m Jack Buttram. (END)
