It became more apparent as the evening wore on that nothing was going to happen.
MAYBE something would happen before the Friday night deadline… but the cantankerous mule juice was being frequently passed around to the point it became pretty obvious WE DID have time for games contrary to the President’s assessment.
The longer it drags on the more tedious it gets both for the originators AND all the observers. Fortunately most of the nation just sleeps through it – but it seems to drag on forever.
So rather than stick to it here at 3AM… I’m abandoning my post – and will (Lord willing) be back at it tomorrow. But I have several other things to do – as I’m sure you do also.
I heard network people dull in their expression reading off what might be closed and what might not… who might be paid and who would have to re-fry those beans again… and I sort of lost my appetite.
Hope you have a good day… perhaps by Friday evening there will be conclusive news… it’s too late to call it good.
Cordially, IN HIM

GET PENCIL & PAPER READY – TEN FOOD ENTRIES
Just a Minute: With everybody worried about running out of money – here’s what you can do while Congress is Yackin’. – This list I carefully gathered from the Internet when I realized Congress is bound to play-out the clock and won’t find a compromise until midnight on or after Friday.
So to help reduce worry ...[get your pen or pencil ready]: Here’s a list of the ten best foods to cut down worry about your budget – not from me but from doctors and dieticians.
#1 Oatmeal – especially with some berries – later in the list. #2 Salmon – or mackerel or tuna – even sardines. #3 Avocado – awesome – make a shrimp & grapefruit salad . #4 Olive oil – you know how – recommended virgin or extra virgin. #5 – Nuts… make your own selections. #6 Berries – blackberries, blueberries, cranberries. #7 legumes, lentils, beans – be creative. #8 Spinach. #9 Flaxseeds – they go well on oatmeal too. And #10Soy beans …green ones OK but watch out for the salt.
OK—no more worry now. I’m out of time. <> Jack Buttram (END)
