IS IT GOING TO BE MAYOR rAHM OR??? -- Just A Minute Radio for Friday 101126

Once again, we’ve come to a parting of the ways… and not a bit too soon.

We had a busy week – including a holiday… which made it a bit more difficult… I had to meet hurried up deadlines… but that wasn’t so bad… I just don’t seem to sleep well when something is pushing me… but I’ll take the holiday – just  skip BLACK FRIDAY.  That sounds so ominous… I recall getting just a little bit scared at Arch Obler radio dramas… I wonder how many $$$ that man made by scaring underage children (like me)… Here I’ve gone through my young years with a blighted, or deformed – somehow defected – imagination… But I survived… after a fashion.

Do you still whistle when you walk by a graveyard…. But I still do ‘reverence’ graveyards – especially country ones… they seem to be more lonely and spooky…. Guess it’s Arch Obler’s fault.

Today’s script and program just came out of being frazzled I guess… Had to produce a couple of programs on a rushed up schedule and the same thing happens at Christmas and New Years… Just have to adjust I guess. I just wondered *when* Rahm Emanuel was going to have to mount the white horse and ride to the polls, or how the race was shaping up.  Looked it up on the Internet – found out more than I wanted to know… But you never know when such stuff that sticks to the flypaper brain comes in handy… although I notice it’s becoming less ‘handy.’

I’m not going to occupy your time further… just have a great weekend – we’ll pick up the parts left over next week – if the world is still turning. If the North Koreans determine July 4th fireworks ought to come in late November, I suppose we’ll all have something new to think about.

God bless you folks. Keep looking to Jesus the author and Finisher of our faith… Now that’s a valuable scripture to look up and meditate on this time of year. I recommend it highly I’ll even give you the reference… Hebrews 12:2 – For those not familiar with Biblical citations…. It’s The book to the Hebrews (scattered abroad in the world) – it’s in the latter part of the New Testament – Chapter 12 – verse 2 is the particular passage to which I was making reference.  And if you care to write about it or have a question… address it to me at N4ZHK@ARRL.NET which is just a mail forwarding service I use… I’m not selling things or even keeping track of who wrote so you need not fear being put on *any* list of mine. And of course I don’t sell it to anyone… that would be unmannerly – also known in my book as *dishonest*…

Give thanks to the Lord for his blessings this day.

            Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

IS IT GOING TO BE MAYOR RAHM OR ???

Just a Minute: Lost sleep over Rahm Emanuel’s February race for Chicago’s  Mayor? No? -- Well, here’s the latest; Rahm’s been gone six years since serving in Congress – and his constituency is a small voter slice of the Chicago pie.

Miz Mosley-Braun says he jumped ship on the President just to run for Mayor.  He’s currently on top of the candidate pile with a 20-point lead over former Senator Moseley Braun and Congressman Danny Davis. However, he has no ‘natural’ base. There could be 20 candidates in the race – only six are considered possibilities.

Rahm’s bid hangs on Moseley Braun. Danny Davis and Illinois state senator James Meeks, they split the blacks and progressives so if Rahm doesn’t win 50 percent plus one, he’ll be in an April runoff which he could lose if the losers gang up to defeat him. Mosley Braun says she resents Rahm abandoning the President after leading him to the biggest Democrat Congressional loss in 27 years.

Typical political brawl – right? -- Don’t underestimate Emanuel’s financial ability to cut a deal -- especially in Chicago.
