GOVERNOR CHRISTIE TELLS IT LIKE IT IS -- Just a Minute Radio for 101129

Yassir, yassir, yassir, I swept an salted th’ front steps – Ah don’t know why you tripped over that shadow… L

The hazards of winter are upon us… just look at the highway wrecks out in the Midwest… and Seattle having a 19 degree morning – and all that cold weather stuff… I’m glad I live in a ‘temperate zone’… Still I did have some mercy in me and took pity on a couple of potted plants and put them in the garage.  I hope I remember to let enough light and put enough water in the pots to keep ‘em alive through the winter.

Now it’s time to limber up the timber – (Was that a good seque or what…?) It’s been so long since I spelled out that word typing a radio script it’s almost withered away out of disuse.

I hope your Thanksgiving was as lovely as ours.  We’ve changed our housing situation over the past three or four years – and while we still have a big family  -- we no longer have a big house, like when we had five growing children around the place… now with grandchildren --- and GREAT GRANDCHILDREN – who we don’t get to see often enough through no fault of their own… Well… Christmas and holidays get complicated. But we did have a group that fit within the available space and time and enjoyed it every bit.

The only ‘crampy’ thing is on Social Security one keeps running out of money at the end of the month. L  But that’s a cranky thing to worry about… not worth it at all!  NEXT JOB is to get a path cleared out to be able to unpack the needle-nosed Christmas tree we bought several seasons back and see if we can locate the decorations… and deck the halls…

We DO have a bountiful supply of holly – and maybe we can surprise some neighbors with a little wreath and lovely red berries. J

Anyway… it’s the opening of the Christmas season “officially” now… and we’re so glad!

Listen in today… if you have access to the  Internet… you won’t be disappointed if you Google  Gov. Christie – Goldwater Society – and listen to how he’s handling the need to correct their public employees benefit program so it won’t go broke… it’s inspiring!

Well… off to bed since I’m writing this after midnight… and gotta get up early… feed the reindeer!

            Cordially, IN HIM,

            Jack & Barbara

“JUST A MINUTE”

GOVERNOR CHRISTIE TELLS IT LIKE IT IS

Just a Minute: In New Jersey – where Chris Christie has been governor since January – they pay the highest property taxes of any state in the Union.  Gov. Christie says the *average* property tax if $7400 and was headed higher. I’ve listened to his speech to the Goldwater Institute in Arizona. It’s on the Internet. Just googleGov. Christie (spellout) … and Arizona --” you’ll find it.

He told them the answer to the budget woes is spending cuts – not tax increases.  He’s not just talking the talk… he’s walking the walk.

Here’s an example – (quoting) “I had two choices,” Christie says. “First, I could sit down with leaders of the Democratic Legislature and try to negotiate a cut of $2.2 billion from the budget, -- they were wringing hands with glee believing they would force me to raise taxes … or I could decide to impose $2.2 billion in spending cuts by executive order. Which one do you think I picked?”

You’ll enjoy listening – Check it out – Gov. Christie (spellout)  – Arizona – It’s totally entertaining and educational.
