A LITTLE QUIET WOULD BE NICE! - Just a Minute Radio for Monday 07-06-09

            Hello again –

Well, the world’s still turning but the climate is warmer – at least that’s what the Almanac says… and it’s *normal* for this time of year.

What’s not normal is to have Alaska’s Governor resign on a Friday – and here it is Monday and probably more than half of South Carolina wants their Governor to do the same but for different reasons. When you pile all that on top of two celebrity deaths, the conclusion of the Wimbledon tennis tournaments over the weekend and President Obama getting on Air Force One ready to tweak Europe and Russia’s noses…

Well, back in the days of the clackety-clack news machine’s we’d have run out of paper and have to change the ribbon.

But these are different days… the news cycle is continuous. The newsboys are all gone… and the newspapers are hanging on by the skin of their fingernails. It’s hectic and contributing to global warming all this hot-air. Time to take a break and we’re just a couple of weeks into summer.

The Supreme Court finished up its term till the Fall… and VP Biden made his trip to Europe and the middle east – I guess he and President Obama must have crossed paths on the approach to Andrews AFB or somewhere… and we’re all left scrabbling in our change purses to see if we can make it through the next month before the foreclosure team knocks on the door.

I guess the Williams sisters are happy and the men’s single’s champion is absolutely ecstatic in his victory.  The only people looking somewhat confused standing on the sidewalk headed home after the fireworks all went off Saturday night are the taxpaying voters… wondering just how we got in this mess – and more importantly how are we going to get out.

To everyone of uncertain mind, I cannot get by without quoting these words: “Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galations 6:7)   -- And if your conscience is speaking to you may I suggest you dust off that copy of the Bible you saw around the house somewhere recently and read the words of the Apostle John Chapter 16 verse 33 -- “In this world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”

            Have a great day everybody!

            Cordially, IN HIM

            Jack

“JUST A MINUTE”

A LITTLE QUIET WOULD BE NICE!

Just A Minute – Last Friday the sluice gates opened and now we’re all up to here in unasked for advice to Gov. Palin for her decision to step away from being Alaska’s governor. She enunciated why she’s doing it -- for the good of the State and her family. What’s-a-matter with just taking her at her word?

Apparently the Huffie Post – and a passle of other blog-snoots can’t do it. Hey Huck, Glenn – Rush and her enemies… Just give it a rest for a while OK? Let’s have some peace and quiet while Mr. Obama goes overseas to play footsies in the international sandbox. Train your super-snooper scopes on him for a while – see if you can discover a legitimate birth certificate.

The Palin family has been on the grill since last August and everybody from Uncle Willie’s housecat to the ghost of J. Edgar, have tramped all over this story. Just turn off the talk mill at least till after Labor Day. Sarah herself said her friends don’t need it – and her enemies won’t believe it. That’s sufficient for me. That can be your contribution cut down on global warming.
