HOW MUCH WORSE KIN HIT GIT? - Just A Minute Radio for 05-27-08

Howdy everybody and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY … to us!

Fifty six years ago on the BJU campus in the War Memorial Chapel (hmmm was that prophetic?) presiding at the ceremony was Dr. Bob Jones, Jr. the University President -- Barbara and I tied the knot that has lasted this long. We were the last or next to last of a string of six or seven couples who did the insane thing of getting married on our graduation day. But – crazy or not – so far it’s been a wonderful ride… with it’s definite ups and downs – but always proving, especially to us, that God is faithful in what HE promises.

We won’t go into all the wonderful details – maybe that’s a book – but then almost every happily married couple has such a book stored away. As we are fond of saying we’re in pretty good shape for the shape we’re in… and unless something untoward has happened, Barbara had her second cataract surgery *this* very morning at Jervey Eye Group’s surgery suite in Cross Creek Medical Court near Greenville Memorial Hospital. We didn’t exactly plan that as a wedding anniversary gift – but we’ll take it!

You know when you’re in the company of “Seniors”. – We start talking about surgeries and medicines and showing the visible scars. We are thankful for the skill of the medical people we’ve encountered – and the Lord’s grace to bring us this far along together. We’re just *looking forward* to – as Paul Harvey used to say – the rest of the story!

So far the score card reads three boys and two girls… thirteen grandchildren … and 5.6 great grandchildren. How can we be more blessed. We’re having all this health care hassle for them!  We’ll not say more.

Have a great rest of the week. We plan to – concentrating on a good eye surgery recovery – and awaiting the Lord’s return any day now. May the Lord bless you all!

            Cordially, IN HIM

            Barbara and Jack
