WE GO BACK TO SOME EARLY DAYS ON THE NILE -- For JUST A MINUTE RADIO - on Wednesday 110202

Once more Hello… it’s the middle of the week – and I managed once more to make my work day stretch till after midnight… must be the rain…

We’re having light rain here in South Carolina… and from all the TV reports I’ve seen it’s really messy in the upper parts of the Nation… and on over into PA and NY and the rest of New England.  Cancellations of flights running extremely high from the TV reports from St. Louis, Kansas City… even Denver and Eastward… DFW (Dallas-Ft. Worth) they were shut down early on Tuesday evening… and that’s very unusual for them.

Well… everyone says its “La Nen~ya” … not “El Nen~yo”… so maybe it’s the rain Gremlins they’ve angered who work in collaboration with the snow, sleet and freezing-rain ‘baddies’ – they are all despised by the piloting families.

Very stormy weather of another kind seems to have found permanent residence in the Middle East… especially in the Suez valley.  It was just about 30 years ago when Anwar Sadat – Prime Minister of Egypt, was gunned down at an outdoor celebration – and that created an opening in (Ancient) Egypt’s government which was immediately filled by Hosni Mubarak.  He has never lifted the emergency laws that were put in place at the time of Sadat’s celebration of his successful trip and peace treaty signing witnessed by President Jimmy Carter up at Camp David in the Maryland mountains. Ever since then Egypt has been under an essentially military one-man rule. (Otherwise known as a dictatorship.)

Of course that has for several thousand years been a region of all kinds of governmental turmoil.  There just seems to be no human ability to control it. It will have to be settled by the Lord – and since HE made it originally – It is very much within HIS power to fashion a peace that lasts for as long as HE wishes. It certainly is beyond man’s purview to figure it out. I guess that’s one reason I’ve always felt alternately sorry for – and amused at – the diplomatic methods of mankind. It is a totally ‘cobbled together’ deal… and when men (and women) attempt to run it in their own ‘human’ way – not taking any account of the Creator – well it’s not only funny… it’s tragic.

The folks at the Bait Shop and Sushi Bar enjoyed your company today… Come back again next week.

            Cordially, IN HIM
