Ah… lookit… it’s a brand new week – so they say… In a brand new, jut slightly used, month….
So… what’s the subject we want to march around the breakfast table celebrating today?
If you want to count ‘em you’ll find lots of “maybe”; “I’m not there yet.”; “I dunno.” – most any other brand of “I havn’t made up my mind.” Standing in the ‘undecided’ fileline over at registration for the 2012 primaries in the GOParty line. It really isn’t in the undecided line… it’s the “too many uncertainties yet” manila file.
For one thing the dust hasn’t even started to rise – much less settle – on how the lines are going to be drawn in the Congressional seats… and *Especially* in those states that have either lost or are going to have to add a district. It becomes a real “BINGO” uncertainty. Nobody knows who is going to run until they know who is running… or more particularly who they would be having to run against and how well would that person be funded and connected.
It’s an uncertain world out there with ‘uncharted waters’ in the states where boundaries between Congressional districts haven’t even been started in the hammering out process yet.
On top of that nobody knows on the GOP who the candidates are… Is Newt in or out? What about Mitt Romney? Or Sarah Palin, or some unknowns who think they might become well knowns. Makes my head hurt just thinking about it.
There are lots of budget problems pending too in many of the states… only a couple are stable enough to be able to sleep at night without tossing and turning to the 2012 blues.
So you think I’m going to put my hand in that forecasting box and pull back a nub – no sirree… I’ll just stand here on the sidewalk for a while till the traffic passes by if you don’t mind.
Cordially, IN HIM
Jack

“JUST A MINUTE”
REMBERANCES OF A CITY SET ON A HILL
Just a Minute: -- Sunday – dyed-in-the-wool Reaganites recall the 100th Birthday of President Ronald Reagan. Saturday, C-Span televised dozens of Senators -- Republicans and Democrats – paying tribute from the Senate floor for his leadership.
From the website of the American Spectator Quin Hillyer provided this tribute she had written on his 88th birthday: (quote) as speechwriter Peggy Noonan wrote in reminiscence, Ronald Reagan "didn't hold views to be popular, he held them because he thought they were right.'' More than that, wrote Ms. Noonan, "He loved
There’s a lot more perhaps which could be written – and probably will be. The Nation thanks you and remembers you, Mr. President.
