A FIRST PRIMER ON HOW ISLAM AFFECTS NATIONS: For Just A Minute Radio - Thursday 110210

Great to have you here looking out – or having peeked out earlier to see if snow has made it’s February appearance. [This happens to be the original message I sent on Wednesday evening… but in it’s usual “The Dog ate my homework…” fashion --  this computer hid it for about 12 or 13 hours before letting it go so I manufactured another this morning (Thursday) to add to the confusion.—BTW there was no snow here!]

Always nice to have something to stir up the bread bakers and the milk milkers – Keeps them alert.

I read or heard somewhere that Mr. Putin, who lives in Russia – just pulling strings while others pretend to run the country – says they will change back to whatever they call DST (daylight saving time) in Russia as scheduled this Spring… but that’ll be the last time.  They’ll stick with one time from now on.

As I recall a few years back they just had one time zone for all of Russia.  Whatever time it is in Moscow – it’s that time all over the whole of Russia… Only it isn’t.  The Kremlin can’t make the sun go faster or slower… they can make it a puzzle just to figure out what time it is.

It was the confusion east-west railroads were encountering that brought about establishing time zones – I’ve picked up that useful information somewhere too. The RR’s used to set the time for a certain line based on the local time at their major terminal on that line.  But I guess it got tough for Chicago to be operating trains running on New York time when trains running to say Kansas City or Dallas were arriving or leaving Chicago at what appeared to be the same minute but the schedules said otherwise… How would you know when to leave the hotel or hire the cab if you weren’t sure just which city’s time your watch should be set to…  Think about that for a while and the problems of the world become a little smaller.

We’re just beginning to hit the rough patches in DC now that the honeymoon is about finished with the new Congressmen and women… then throw into the scandal columns a few indiscretions of the less moral ones of each party and the scene becomes well… scandalous.

Furthermore we have the Egyptian stew that keeps threatening to boil over – but we’ve lived through that before.  We just haven’t figured out how to transplant ethics, honesty and anti-corruption into people addicted to power and attention. You’d think in the dead of winter an upstate New Yorker would know the season isn’t one in which to display oneself shirtless… but deception comes in many packages. Apparently he set a new record for an early and prompt resignation. Could he have been getting guidance from New York’s former Governor?  Ah well. Maybe he got bit by a ground hog.

Sorry… it’s past my bedtime for these ‘bedtime’ stories… I’ll check out and be back, (DV) tomorrow.

“JUST A MINUTE”

A FIRST PRIMER ON HOW ISLAM AFFECTS NATIONS

Just a Minute: -- We’d show you what happens when Muslim population increases on a chart – but we can’t on the radio  --  So listen carefully – and send for a script if you wish --

If a nation has under 1% Muslim population they’re thought of as a peace-loving minority -- not a threat: Such nations are USA, Australia, Canada, China, Italy, Norway.

At 2% to 3% they start recruiting from ethnic minorities and disaffected groups like former prisoners or street gangs -- Nations so affected are: Denmark, Germany, The U.K., Spain and Thailand.

At 5% & up they push hard for Islamic-ally “clean” food, thus opening jobs for Muslims and pushing supermarkets etc. for halal (clean) foods and threatening if they don’t comply. They also want to have their own rule under Sharia, the Islamic Law. Like  France, Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Trinidad & Tobago.

At 10 % lawlessness ratchets up with complaints and car burnings – demonstrations about cartoons – it’s happened in Amsterdam,, Guyana, India, Israel, Kenya and Russia.

We gotta stop today at 10% -- We’ll finish tomorrow… be sure to be listening – send a stamped envelop to WMUU-FM – and – we’ll post it on the INTERNET at: “justaminuteradio.blospot.com” if you’re interested.
