NEW YORK TIMES CARRIES STORIES ABOUT SIPHONING TEA PARTY VOTES - Just A Minute Radio for Tuesday 101026

Well – a very good day to you…

We have news. For several weeks now there have been scattered ‘smell the rat’ kinds of stories of efforts being mounted in Nevada, Colorado, Michigan, about 18 states in all, to mount fake third party or tea partiers who would siphon away Democrat votes from their opponents in a three-way race.

We have such a race here in the 4th District of SC… but we don’t know of such shenanigans – but there’s a week left yet. Anyway, I hope you’ll be listening today to JUST A MINUTE. It’s hard to get all the details in when you have just 60 seconds… but it works because of the format where we originate this info.  Anyway the new improved signal of our flagship station is getting into parts of NC, GA and TN that we never hit before… as well as most of upstate SC now too.  So… there’s more of a regional audience involved.

Also the flagship station – WMUU-FM at 94.5 on the FM dial – has a signal that’s about 400 feet higher up in the air than it was over a year ago… plus recently they’ve added streaming audio to the website… which means a relative in a distant state… say California, who had no hope of hearing WMUU before… can now have their own radio station outlet right in their own home. Check it out and see if there’s not an opportunity to increase the people you share WMUU-‘s good music with in other parts of the country.

Well, I’m a little side tracked… but I also had cataract surgery (at least that’s what was intended when this was written) and I don’t know if the anesthesia has worn off yet – or other complications. In any case I couldn’t sleep… so decided to get this on the hoof and out to you without delay.

So much for housekeeping. Drop me a line at WMUU.com or my weblog.. “justaminuteradio.blogspot.com” and perhaps we’ll get the chance to shoot the breeze now that the days are growing shorter.

Thanks for being here… don’t forget to vote… if you didn’t vote absentee… and we’ll see you at the polls next week.

            Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

NEW YORK TIMES CARRIES STORIES ABOUT SIPHONING TEA PARTY VOTES

Just A Minute – The New York Times on October 22 – page A-1 – and the Saturday edition headlined Democrats Back Third Parties to Siphon Votes -- written by Jim Rutenberg. The Times article says:

“Seeking any advantage in their effort to retain control of Congress, Democrats are working behind the scenes in a number of tight races to bolster long-shot third-party candidates who have platforms at odds with the Democratic agenda but hold the promise of siphoning Republican votes.”

There’s evidence of that same kind of effort being mounted by the DNC in Nevada, Michigan and several other states of organized Democrat efforts siphon votes from ‘tea partiers.’ Actually it’s an old, disgraced effort to change results in close races and has been done by both parties at various times.

The Democrats say the Republicans are to blame for their own problems because they have nominated candidates with inflexible stances which drives away independents.

¨     We’ll just have to pray – and to see. I’m Jack Buttram. (END)
