OF COURSE YOU KNOW HOW -- ONCE I SHOW YOU! -- Just a Minute Radio for Wednesday 100929BB#39

Hello… late in the day getting the news on the Blog for Wednesday.

There are just too many things to do – and only 24 hours in the day to do them.  So today, I’m trying to catch up – but losing the race.

This is the “campin’ pain season” as the guys over at “EARN ‘N’ LESTER’S BAIT SHOP & SUSHI BAR” point out to me. They are all sort of winding down the fishing season and winding up the hunting experience.  As a kid this was the time of year when my Dad would take me squirrel hunting – trying to teach me how to hunt.

Well, it turns out I wasn’t a much better shot than I was a basketball or baseball player. Some folks just have the talent I guess and some don’t. I think gifted fathers can pass along some of their talent or experience to their sons… (and perhaps to their daughters) and my Dad tried mightily… but … without a lot of success.

I liked to *catch* fish… but sitting for an hour or two in the sun without a bite wasn’t really … well… exciting.  That wasn’t Dad’s fault… but no matter where we went fishing, in farm ponds in Alabama or South Carolina…places where relatives lived… as I remember it – it was pretty much the same story. I tried to take my oldest grandson fishing in the same fashion… with just about the same result. He doesn’t care for fishing either… or hunting. I suppose I passed along a full sized helping of the Buttram “luck”.

However… we do have happy families and good relations. I just don’t seem to be a good teacher.  Same story on driving… but we won’t go there. (L)

Anyway—that’s the reason I’m late today (tonight) so no need to worry about it. The POLITICS are takin’ over… It’s on my ticket and we’ll try to make it up some other way. The race to the November 2nd finish line is well underway… I think I’ll have something more interesting in tomorrow’s blog… so please drop by or drop me a line when you have time. All the best.
