THE STORM CLOUDS AIR A-GATHERIN' -- Just A Minute Radio for Wednesday Feb. 17, 2010

Howdy – Middle of the week again…

And we’re still fighting the battle with some persistent glitches at the blogsite on Blogspot.com. So I think if you want an audio version, you’ll have to cut/copy the link as it’s printed out and paste it into the address line of your browser.  Sometime soon we hope to smooth out these bumps… but for now the time seems too limited.

However, the political process continues to roll on – and we’re not the most comprehensive news source on the i-Net… but we do strive to be accurate and report the things three times a week we believe are important for Christians seeking to be good citizens, participating in an informed and spiritual way in the governance of our country.  Now that’s the view “I” take of our job as voters and citizens.  I’m sure it’s not shared by *everyone* but everyone does have an opportunity – if it’s not squandered – to participate in the process… and we each have an obligation to be so engaged I believe – although I recognize that’s not what *everyone* believes.  Fortunately it’s a  free country!

It’s becoming increasingly apparent/important for voting citizens to be informed about what’s going on politically.  That of course does not tie you to any one party or indeed to any one philosophy.  We all have opinions as to what’s correct – and we’re not only allowed but encouraged to express them within the bounds set forth in our Nation’s constitution.  It’s part of the *job* -- or privilege of being a citizen to inform yourself – and participate.  Although I will say with conviction I’m NOT in favor of *everyone* voting just to say they cast a ballot.  I believe it is the Christian duty of a Christian believer to participate in his government… but it is not mandatory.  And for my part, if you don’t care… or have to be haggled to the polling place – frankly I’d just as soon you stay home.  Someone comes up with the idea they’d just as soon be governed by the first 100 names in the phone book… [Well yeah… but that’d give the “A’s” significant over-representation in our representative, self-governing Republic.]

OK… enough of the civics lesson for a Wednesday – but I’ll vote for your country to be free and fair if you’ll do the same for me and my clan.  God bless you today and lead us all in HIS way for our Nation.

            Cordially, IN HIM
