IT LOOKS LIKE A LONG AND DANGEROUS CLIMB - Just A Minute Radio for Friday Feb. 26 2010

Howdy Once again… it’s FRIDAY and not a moment too soon.

Computers are handy things – when they’re workin’ right – when they’re workin’ quirkin’ – it’s a mystery.  We’re still workin’ with about half of one that’s acting up. So… with various delays and trying to figure the shortest way out of the swamp we’ll eventually get there.  [I think that was Thomas A. Edison’s philosophy – it must have been when he tried hundreds of ‘things’ to make a light bulb filament. Eventually he succeeded – Praise the Lord, or we’d still be looking in the dark.

Fortunately a similarly endowed man named Westinghouse came up with the idea of alternating current and transformers or we’d all be living nextdoor to a generator – and a DC generator at that. Edison was deathly worried that Westinghouse was going to kill a lot of people with that deadly alternating current…AC – and we still do. That’s why it’s required to install GFI safety outlets near sinks, bathtubs and the like… electrocution still happens through carelessness.

A friend sent me some pictures of terrible wiring – and plumbing – and venting… I suppose it’s a miracle we’re all still alive… or are we?  Actually, we’re a lot better off if we realize this world is not our home… we’re just a-passin’ through… well you know the rest of it. It’s just one of those things I think about in the mornings when the computer is giving me trouble… I guess kerosene lamps gave trouble too… (J)

Everybody’s got to be somewhere… and I hope the ‘where’ you’re going to be this weekend is in your house of worship – a place that gives attention and worship as the Bible outlines it for us.  We are so fortunate in America – let’s not forget to thank the Lord for it.  Have a GREAT  week-end.

            Cordially, IN HIM

 “JUST A MINUTE”

IT LOOKS LIKE A LONG AND DANGEROUS CLIMB

Just a Minute: -- For those glued to their TV’s yesterday there wasn’t much to see.  I heard Rush reluctantly reveal he may have been wrong to urge GOP to stay home.  Apparently the majority believed Rush, and so didn’t properly prepare – leaving ‘Searchlite’ Harry as their lone warrior aside from the Professor Barack lecturing campaign rival.  McCain to just quit

campaigning.

I did overhear a certain ‘mainstream’ type asking: “Whatever happened to the suave and smooth campaign teleprompter-reader whose coolness bordered on lassitude, while holding every crowd in the palm of his hand? – Why is he not motivating his party people to join the cause?”

Trying to get Democrat majorities in the House and Senate to march to the beat of Obama’s drummer became akin to ‘herding cats’ – especially such cats as Barney Frank, Ron Wyden and Chuck Schumer.  Ah dear Chuck … he’s yet to find a single camera not to stand in front of.  As they trudged back to the White House no one seemed exuberant.  The summit was a dud.
