Howdy – It’s Friday the end of the week again –
And today a little lesson in paying attention to the news. It’s a technique that’s been around for quite a while – and often employed by those who are less than sanguine about having you pay attention to some particular announcement or event. It’s known as the “Late Friday afternoon news dump.”
The technique is to release unpleasant or news you’d just as soon not receive a lot of attention late on Friday afternoon before the weekend. Often newsrooms are leaking people for weekend outings and the substitute crew may not be up to speed or are perhaps overloaded with getting out the Sunday paper or booking the weekend shows etc. and the ‘less than sterling’ news may get trampled in the rush.
Today’s JUST A MINUTE has about five full-fledged examples of actions taken or announcements made on the Friday afternoons since Mr. Obama became President. Not to say he’s responsible in every instance – but when you’re President everything that happens on your watch you’re supposed to know about.
There are many cases of campaigning officials or newly minted Governors and Presidents promising to be the “most honest” and transparent pol on the block. In my experience going back into the early ‘60’s – those kinds of promises are readily made and even more often ignored.
So … here we are on a Friday… perhaps there will be things of which we ought to take note that will appear in the Saturday paper… or perhaps not at all – and our activities cause us to pass them by. I find it’s worthwhile to ask the Lord to increase my vision at such times… and often get rewarded with information I might otherwise not notice.
Have a blessed week ending.
Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”
FRIDAYS LOOK SO DREARY – SOMETIMES.
JUST A MINUTE – Why are Fridays marked for bad news?
In
Friday afternoon, April 17th NIH released new guidelines for stem-cell research letting our tax dollars pay for what most of us oppose.
On Friday, January, 23rd Mr. Obama overturned the pro-life Mexico City Policy – ignoring the March for Life two days before. This action also allows more tax dollars to fund international abortion providers like Planned Parenthood.
On Friday, February 27th The President announced a rollback on conscience protection rules for Doctors, Nurses and medical workers who conscientiously won’t participate in abortions.
And on Friday, March 6th, President Obama signed an executive order allowing tax dollars to fund embryonic stem cell research.
Wonder what pro-abortion measure might come down the ramp today?

Hi mKhulu -- Appreciate your comment. Interesting the New York Times published the first semi- favorable story on Dick Cheney in a *long* time ... it came out over the weekend althoug the published date was April 23...Thursday. Well, perhaps it was a half-hearted attempt not to be noticed and spoil their record.
Thanks for reading and commenting. -- Cordially, Jack
