SAME OLE -- What goes around...--- Just A Minute Radio for Monday 100412

            Hello on *another* Monday….

Well, we’ve had a couple of nice days and a couple of tornados apparently from the looks of the wreckage.  Just fortunate no lives were lost..

On the political scene – we’re not so sure.  Marco Rubio is apparently continuing his high speed ramp-up in the Florida Senate Primary.  Possibly you remember former NY Mayor Rudy Giuliani aiming for the GOP presidential nod in 2008 when he was hanging his hopes on winning the Florida primary.  Well… he didn’t win it.  Largely due to  Charlie Crist – at that time the *popular* governor of Florida who Mayor Giuliani was counting on to help him win in a landslide in the Sunshine State.

But Charlie didn’t come through – at the last minute he swung his support to John McCain – at least that’s the story we got at the time – and so the former Mayor was left in a non-win third place finish in Florida.  And finish it was because he decided his long shot had been mis-fired and he dropped out of the race.   Now the situation is awkward… Mr. Crist could use Mr. Giuliani’s help but for some reason he seems to prefer to endorse Marco Rubio – Mr. Crist’s challenger – and Giuliani says Marco is “the only candidate that can be trusted to enunciate Republican principles in Washington. “

Question: Is turn about fair play?  In politics you’d better watch your back. “

Rumor has it Mr. Crist, who has a bunch of campaign money, but his chances of winning have grown appreciable slimmer, is angry enough at Mr. Giuliani’s characterization that he just may pick up his marbles and go play on the independents’ playground. Which could bode ill for holding on to that Senate seat currently in the GOP ranks.

Meantime Giuliani decided not to challenge Kirsten Gillibrand for that New York Senate nomination… so baseball anyone?  They’re swingin’ for the fences!

            Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

SAME OLE – ‘WHAT GOES AROUND …

Just a Minute: -- Last Monday Rudy Giuliani threw his “Sinker” endorsing Marco Rubio in Florida's red-hot senate primary.  With his mile-wide grin in Coral Gables a week ago Giuliani tossed in: -- "This is an easy choice," He said. "He is the one and only candidate we can trust to represent Republican principles in Washington."

Ohhhh My  – Back in 2008 the Former NY Mayor was pitchin’ hard for Florida voters counting on Florida Governor Charlie Crist. – But Crist at the last moment endorsed McCain.  That dumped the former Gotham Mayor into a lame third finish – and he dropped out of the presidential sweepstakes.

Now the horseshoe’s on the other hoof. The Giuliani endorsement hits at a particularly bad time for Crist  -- his pictorial Obama hug has dunked him in the poll standings – while Jeb Bush, Sr. hasn’t said who he’s for -- yet.

Speculation is rife Crist will  jump out of the GOP and run as an independent. – Giuliani, meantime, took a walk and didn’t challenge New York Senator Kirsten Gilibrand, so … where will he light next?
