Happy FRIDAY Friends…
This continuing discussion of the “Single Payer – Government Health Reform” bill is one of the most tedious things that’s gone on under the Capitol Dome in a loooooong time.
I think if I were of the Democrat persuasion, I’d be against it just on the fact of its hanging around and being dominating things so much at a time of year when we ought not to have to be concerned with what’s happening inside the Beltway. I’m sure ready for it to be dropped in the trash – and because of its size in both the House and Senate’s version… just one copy of each makes a trashcan full.
During the time I worked on the Senate side of the Hill we had some long term debates… and things moved slowly – until… until the Senators decided they *wanted* something to happen and happen now… and boy could they move when they stepped on the gas. Suspension of the rules by unanimous consent and everyone wanted action. That also happened a few days back when they came to the realization if they didn’t pass the debt ceiling increase things would come to a halt – including paychecks… Well… you can see what happened. Nossir… no need to delay that…
I was very pleased to see Fox News last night… (Thursday) have an hour-long program hosted by John Stossel who just recently joined them from ABC. Stossel is one of very few conservative commentator/reporters in major league broadcasting. I’m glad to see he made the change. I think he’ll be more comfortable at FOX… and will contribute to their success in bucking the tide of the mainstream media.
Hope you’ve got your Christmas preparations mostly underway… I don’t think we can do much more in the time remaining… but one never knows. We’ll just look to HIM for our marching orders. See you next week.
Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”
LET’S JUST EAT THE WHOLE THING
Just A Minute – Next Friday it’s Christmas -- so who’ll get the presents and who’ll get the bill? I can’t answer the first one – but there’s no uncertainty about the second – it’ll be the taxpayer! The last guy to leave the party gets stuck with the check. Why? The government hasn’t any money *except* that which is forced from the taxpayer under force of law.
Senators, under
Last night I saw an excellent program with John Stossel, and the CEO of
“Whole Foods,” John Mackey. The head of Whole Foods, started his now famous Wall St. Journal op-ed with a quote from Margaret Thatcher:(quote) "The problem with socialism is, eventually you run out of other people's money."
Whole Foods totally, has about 275 stores. They set up a $2500 health savings account for each team member – it’s their money which accumulates if not used. The stores are being boycotted by people who want health care like
Merry Christmas!
