WOULD YOU RULE OUT A PALIN-BECK TICKET? - Just A Minute Radio for Friday Nov. 20th 2009

            Howdy Folks – IT’S FRIDAY!

The bloom seems to be off the rose – although there’s a lot of autumn color still around in isolated spots.  But my yard is knee-deep in brown leaves.  I’m absolutely astonished at the brilliance of the little Japanese maple that has mostly scarlet leaves – but several branches on the side closest to the house are a beautiful, and a very intense yellow – remarkable!

Yellow seems to have several present applications – like to those who are awaiting opportunity to Impose their will on the rest of us Saturday night when the Democrat majority in the Senate plan to saddle the American taxpayer with an extra  trillion dollars of debt unwanted and unappreciated by a majority of American taxpayers.  At least that’s what all the major polls say from Applebaum to Zukerman.

I can’t appreciate where those Senators and House members work up the chutzpa to impose so much debt on our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Oh, yeah, I know, it’s being done in the name of doing good for those who don’t have the sense (or the money) to do it for themselves.  But it’s just another giant step along the path of nanny-government – and I’m too old and presently disgusted for that.

Well if you are hankering for a bit of news that shows we’re progressing, it happens that on this day the final ride of the Pony Express concluded in 1861.  See, everybody needs a bit of good news.  (J)  Have a great weekend.

Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

WOULD YOU RULE OUT A PALIN-BECK TICKET?

JUST A MINUTENow that Sarah Palin’s record-breaking book has hit the stores – gab has begun about various combinations for 2012, or 2016.  She’s has been on various talk shows and certain quotes from a Newsmax interview generated stories about her future.

Mrs. Palin herself stresses she’s not seriously considering anything at this time – but did admit she has admiration for Glenn Beck and the charge he’s leading. The exact quotes are, “Glenn Beck is someone she has (quote)great respect for’ and is one who (quote)calls it like he sees it.’

There’s also talk about a Palin-Cheney ticket – which perhaps causes Chris Matthews seek a quick jaunt to the Emergency Room – and possibly revs up liberals who feel confident such a ticket would be easily defeated in any foreseeable contest.  For my part – I think it’s demented – (Apologies to Senator Jim) to be speculating about such things which has so many variable factors.

You’d have better odds picking a year for the Chicago Cubs to win the World Series.
