Howdy… Yep we’re back OK… everything run OK while I’m gone?…better than usual… you say? – Hmmm??
As a matter of fact it *wasn’t* really a
Did you enjoy the couple of day free from politics? I see they’ve taken it up again since we came back anyway. It’s a long drive down to S. Florida… and if you’re not down by the beach… well let’s just say I enjoyed it more when I could just fly over it rather than drive. No we’re not movin’ off the Caroliner Line… We’re movin’ thangs fer sumbody else. [Who said that?]
My wife says women are better suited to handling the trauma of moving than men are. Do you agree? … I’d like to hear your opinion. Maybe I could get out of … no… I’d better not. She can’t lift heavy things. But then neither can I. So… I guess we make a perfect team.
How about Friday the 13th… was that fun? We did spend an inordinate amount of time at a funeral home and visiting a burial ground… but we’ll get over it ok (J) I think!
One more bit of useless information you’ll want to file away – from the Old Farmer’s Almanac… Saturday 20 years ago – the first caboosless [is that a real word?] freight train on the Canadian Pacific Railroad left Winnipeg bound for Thunder Bay – that was back in 1989 – See how time flies – or in this case runs on the rapid rails.
Ours is up for today… see you Wednesday at the Bait Shop and Sushi Bar on th’ Caroliner Line… I’m sure the folks have things to keep you up to date.
Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”
THINGS WE KNOW THAT “AIN’T SO”
Just A Minute – George Will’s Sunday column in the Washington Post carried the headline, “An Image Evaporates.” It hits the mark ‘though the column writer doesn’t usually write the headline.
Will points to a widely circulated photo of a soldier, fatally wounded. It’s 1936 and the Spanish “Civil War” – a precursor to World War One. Controversy has questioned the photo’s authenticity for decades. Was it real? Was it staged?
What I’m going to say is, the headline on the Post’s column speaks more truth than the column itself. *I* thought the column was about the President’s melting image in the heat of today’s reality. Frankly, I do believe it inadvertently catches the truthful moment of what’s happening.
Mr. Obama is still campaigning – nobody’s been able to crack the Oval Office isolation to inform him it’s Presidential time! Get off the dime. Support the troops on the ground in
