AND... uh... IN *MY* OPINION...uh -- *I* THINK......UH, IT'S ... Just A Minute for Friday, October 23rd 2009

            Hello there… welcome to FRIDAY:

It’s been a fascinating week. The war(s) go on in Iraq, Afghanistan, and FOX NEWS! The latter one, some suspect, is a make-big-smoke-and-noise exercise to steal away attention from the so-called ‘health care REFORM’ debate.

Not much of a debate when they won’t let any news people, Republicans or anyone likely to know what’s going on in there with them – despite the President’s promise for this to be the most ‘transparent’ Administration in history.  [Perhaps no one at Harvard ever explained what ‘transparent’ meant?]

In any case, it’s becoming apparent to even casual observers that attacking a smaller entity (as in US Govt. vs. FOX News… or teabaggers…) or any *smaller*entity -- makes on be perceived to be themselves smaller… and stirs empathy for the one attacked. You learned that at recess on the school ground in first grade.

Charles Krauthammer, pointed out in yesterday’s column how *unsuccessful* was the White House attempt to get the rest of the press corps there to join in an effort to freeze out the Fox Correspondent to a staged briefing on health care finances. Here’s part of what Krauthammer wrote:

“On Thursday, the administration tried to make them complicit in an actual boycott of Fox. The Treasury Department made available Ken Feinberg, the executive pay czar, for interviews with the White House "pool" news organizations — except Fox. The other networks admirably refused, saying they would not interview Feinberg unless Fox was permitted to as well. The administration backed down.”

There’s an inexorable rule in DC – “What goes around comes around…” – and when it comes around it usually bites with a vengeance – where it hurts! Mr. Obama and his advisors have not yet made it fully through that initiation -- yet – but give it time.

No sense in spoiling your weekend. We’ve already had a great time visiting with part of the family we’ve not seen in a while.  You do something like that too… it’s refreshing… the world’s still turning. God is still on the throne.  Amen!

Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

AND… UH… IN *MY* OPINION…UH -- *I* THINK… UH IT’S …

Just A Minute – Some press aides believe *they* are ordained to occupy center stage – not fathoming their job is just to deliver the essence of what The President thinks.  That’s it!  -- Bob Gibbs, has used up more Ah’s and Uh’s than he’s allowed in four years not nine months.

Thursday, Gibbs, slammed former Vice President, Dick Cheney, for a “failed policy” on Afghanistan.  It was a day after Cheney said the Administration was “dithering” on a troop surge.  Gibbs called Cheney’s comments ‘curious’ –fired his cap pistol – and blamed the Bush Administration.

Cheney calls it dithering, President Obama claimed it’s his solemn responsibility.  Gibbs said: "I think we've...” – HOLD IT !

Who cares what Bob Gibbs thinks about Dick Cheney?  Gibbs pauses on the lip of every third word figuring out what he thinks.  How refreshing it would be to hear Dragnet’s Jack Webb, saying: “Just the facts, Mister.”
