MICHELLE'S SENIOR THESIS - Just a Minute for Monday 09-15-08

Howdy folks… ‘Tis Monday I believe…

 

Today I’m using some material originally sent to me by a couple of friends – and because I wondered why I had not seen it in the main stream media – I was especially careful to check it out.  Snopes.com – is a very reliable web site for checking on rumors of crazy new plagues on the Internet – ones that melt down your hard drive and throw licorice candy out the window and all sorts of oddments. But this story turns out to be true.

 

Apparently in March or so of this year Princeton began getting requests for Michelle Obama’s senior Thesis – written something like 23 years ago. They put a restriction on it until after November 5^th… election day. They did something similar I hear to one of Hillary’s literary pieces – but I never checked that out. Anyway – that restriction got sort of a red-flag treatment -- passed around and lo and behold *somebody* must have coughed up their copy and posted it on the BIG net and as they say the rest is history. A friend who monitors this stuff says Princeton reported 54,0000 hits. – which in the cyberworld of Internet, isn’t huge – but it impressed me.

 

So… I checked it out with the resources I have and did not run into a stone wall… and Mrs. O hasn’t denied it – in fact there’s just an eerie silence about it… which makes me wonder. I applied my ‘truth in advertising’ test as to whether something is needful to know or not… and asked if something like this were to come up about Cindy McCain – or Sarah Palin – would our recently departed anchors at MSNBC or Jack Cafferty over at CNN likely have used it?  Would it make any difference?  Finally I decided because of its nature and the strong evidence it really is there and was written by Mrs. O… her attitudes and opinions so expressed ought to be out in the open so she can abandon them or whatever she wishes. If it’s something she still stands behind… so be it… It’s a free country be my guest.

MICHELLE’S SENIOR THESIS

Just A Minute – Today’s difficult program is about Michelle Obama’s Senior Princeton undergraduate Thesis written 23 years ago before computers and spell checkers. It was first restricted by the University until Nov. 5^th – then, because it began appearing on Politico.com they lifted the ban and it got 54 thousand ‘hits.’ 

I only use information from Snopes.com – a place to check out Internet rumors – and this one checks out true. Snopes says she … “stated that whites in America were 'ineradicably racist'.”

In another passage which Snopes calls: ‘uncomfortable and ominous in meaning she says:’ (quote)  “There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize all of my present and future resources to benefit the black community first and foremost.” (unquote) Snopes asks: ‘What is Michelle Obama planning to do with her future resources if she's first lady that will elevate black over white in America?’
