The oddities and Gremlins seem to have taken a holiday this past weekend.
So, we’re not beginning the ‘home’ stretch yet,…but sooner or later that’ll come too. While out on the electronic horizon even though this is one of the most stretched-out primary skeds in history, we are able to see the spars and masts over the horizon. So at least ‘calendar’ progress is registering. Things are getting a bit tighter, the elbows are getting sharper along with the tongues, and we’d better put in our order for salve and healing liniment as the race draws on apace.
My feeling is we’re on the right track, but there are humps and bumps in the road that may jar us – the essential thing is NOT to panic, but to do as it appears Mr. Romney is doing. Hold a steady course and ignore the snipers from your side of the field – it makes them seem even less ‘weighty’. The other thing to ignore are the pop-up overnight polls…even some of the well established ones who have deep-rooted biases – don’t waste brain power on them. Let the sniffers and differs smoke’em out.
Time is getting shorter – and day by day there’s more to do. So don’t slack off or get discouraged at this stage of the game. Think of yourself as a runner and keep up a steady pace until you get that second, or even third wind. That’s what we hear from the 5K and miler runners… same is true in the political races.
Gotta get my rest, meditation and time to pray. That’s the most important element in the whole caboodle – PRAYER – you may not think so…but you’ll see!
See you tomorrow.
Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”
WE CAN STILL LOSE!
Just a Minute: Here’s how the wheels come off. Peggy Noonan, Wall St Journal Week End Columnist, loves to write about politics and accurately sees the potholes and pitfalls in the road remaining between here and November 6th. Of Mr. Obama she says: “Really, he cannot win the coming election. But the Republicans, can still lose it.” She winds up her mantology with a mighty sigh.
I feel the same way. But we need to do more than sigh!
I spoke with a fellow church member Sunday noon who continues to feel discouraged. Not without good reason because there still is what I lightly describe as an unholy trio – sort of a Tinker, to Evans to Chance ensemble --, who instead of getting off the freight train on a downhill run, ignore the impending crash of “the old ’97” while continuing to blow the whistle and failing to apply the brakes. This ill-matched-bunch -- Santorum, to Gingrich to Paul -- foolishly stay bent on their course discouraging those trying to head off another four years of Obama-ism.
