We are still in the “
Normally in January we get some seriously cold weather often with the moderate amounts of snow, or freezing rain etc. And tomorrow is “Ground Hog Day” at least that’s the word of the Old Farmer’s Almanac and they’ve not been wrong since 1792 – or at least that’s what the cover says was their founding date.
However at this juncture (you know there’s a lecture coming when some pontificator comes along with that word – he’s trying to impress rather than inform) I’m just looking to see what will happen if we don’t start getting some serious winter WX up here next to the Blue Ridge? I shall just have to live with the shortage through another fruit season… but I do hope we will have cool (i.e. below 30 degrees Fahrenheit hours) of sufficient number to cause the fruit and other crops of delicious southland products to properly flourish. I just hate the thought of going through the coming summer with all the political hot err... ah ,,, warmed air causing the frost not to nip the buds of South Carolina OR Georgia so we shall have a peachless season – as we have had before. It would be a sort of ‘fruit calamity of the first order. So let us importune our Heavenly Father who made and makes all things good.
We had a 13 inch snowfall in March a few years back which snafu’ed I-85 for about three days. So… we can have snow sometimes when we *don’t * want – I just DON”T want to have to undergo a peachless Summer, Lord.
Well… enough damage for today. May the Lord bless us all.
In Him,
Jack
