THE "BOSS" AND THE SENATOR

Howdy again.

If the Democrats are doing little else besides put on a show in Denver… it does appear to be a good one. It has bathos, pathos, suspense – perhaps a large dash of revenge and even a possible long range look with muttered: “Wait till next time.”

No doubt the Republicans have dispatched not-so-secret agents to plant seeds of dis-union (If that’s a word.) in the ranks. Everyone’s speculation is the die-hard Hillary folks – in the well evidenced spirit of their mentors – don’t go away just because the game is over. Especially when there have been slights, and slips and huge ego’s have been bruised at virtually every turn. I must say, the Obama camp gives every evidence of having a tin ear when it comes to sounding a clear note of conciliation.

Madam Hillary, who, by the way will continue in the spotlight no matter who wins the Presidency, as “Queen of queens” – is bound to be a force to reckon with no matter if it is an Obama or McCain Administration. She has been handled roughly in these trying times – and if the Clintons do anything – they repay in kind. There are hurts to be healed and old scores that may be settled long after the original battles have been forgotten. It’s a tough world out there – just ask Hillary and Bill – they’ve helped make it that way.

So, while the country’s economy is on hold – or slipping backwards – and nothing substantial is being done about the energy crisis while the Democrats and Republicans engineer a massive game of musical chairs on Capitol Hill – we’ll just have to observe, these coming results are not inconsequential, nor are they unexpected. What we do need to keep before us is what has come to be regarded as my ever present refrain: In times like these it’s an excellent practice to have God’s word ‘hidden in your heart’ to call upon.

Right now I find great comfort for Bible believers in a verse uttered by one of the Bible’s earliest figures… Job. “He knoweth the way that I take and when He has tried (tested) me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10) You can memorize that verse so it will stick with you, in less than five minutes. If you repeat it for ten days in a row it will be yours for LIFE! What a promise… from the creator of the Universe.

Cordially, IN HIM

“JUST A MINUTE”

THE “BOSS” AND THE SENATOR

Just A Minute – It’s quite a jump from Beijing Olympics to Mile High Denver – but ‘that’s entertainment’ – which seems to be the unintended theme of the Democrats’ convention.

Today’s biggest buzz on the broadcast traffic net in the Mile High City is, there will be a massive tangle on Thursday when “The Boss” – music slang for Bruce Springsteen – is rumored to be in town to join Senator B.O. onstage for his acceptance speech in the 75 thousand seat home of the Denver Broncos.

All the campaign talk about Senator Barak being ‘like a ‘rock star’ is apparently on its way to morphing into truth as sleuths ferret out details. It’s going to be “like Berlin all over again” if one is to believe the rumors rocketing around Denver.

If the behind-the-scenes conversations are true – and that turns out to be the high-water mark of Obama’s coronation as the Democrat’s standard bearer – we are liable to have one of the most turbulent four-year periods in American history. May the Lord protect us.
